As far as this reveal it was pretty awful, no need for this type of press conference. I really don't understand this marginal upgrade, go full bore like Scorpio.

As for how you message, the different experiences? My guess is they will show the PS4 Pro footage and have this at the bottom of EVERYTHING.

So I take it the Pro's CPU now runs at the equivalent of a laptop 2GHz processor and the GPU is the equivalent of a Radeon RX470 or GeForce GTX970.

Yes, let me just shell out 1200 dollars for a TV in addition to grabbing this 400 dollar console. So cheap.

@rvone: Six months ago, non-HDR 55" 4K TVs were about a thousand dollars. They're $500 now. This stuff drops in price relatively quickly unless there's a production reason (like OLED fabrication) that prevents it.

Absolutely. Especially given the fact that there will still be little 4K content outside of video games.

Not being able to see the HDR displays, this show did not do much for me, and I'd consider myself a bit of a Sony fanboy. So I'm glad Vinny sounded pretty positive about it in person. I expected a lot of shrugged shoulders.

The duder's audio is easily twice as loud as the stream feed and they talk over most of it, mostly tangental, so if your looking for actual info this isn't the video to watch.

@rvone 4k blu-rays will probably be ramping up in the next year though, when TVs start coming way down in price. Can be an expensive proposition right now tho.

God, that thing is so pointless. 4K console that doesn't do UHD or native 4K. Why not just focus on 1080p60fps or something worthwhile? Unless there's a generous trade-up program ($200+) by retailers, I don't see the point.

This event was not what I expected but all the same, I will more than likely replace my PS4 with a Pro version.

Sure. If you only buy a new TV every 10-15 years like I do. I spend more money on my PC since I get a new mid-range graphics card every 2-3 years along with miscellaneous upgrades here and there.

This was one of the worst things I've ever seen.... who thought this event was a good idea? I'm not going to buy a PS4 Pro because I just thought it was lame and nothing sold me on PSVR...

This and the Apple event sucked.

Calm down.

Might get the PS4 Pro sooner rather than later, but I think I'll hold off on 4K HDR until fall of next year. I figure by Sept/Oct 2017, the mature versions of the tech will be for sale at a decent price.

What I am waiting for is low input lag. Sure you CAN buy a HDR 4K TV in various sizes now, but most of them have bad input lag...or that is where you are making the compromise. I'll give it a year to see what technology is being shown, I'm sure CES 2017 will show off some real improvement.

Sony has gone too many conferences without having Shu on stage. This must be rectified!
