Ryan's Top 10 News Stories I Read Today and Thought They Might Be April Fools Jokes But It Turns Out They Weren't

When the default tone for blogs is snarky, it can be tough to tell when they're just kidding.

Let's face it: it can be tough enough to filter out the facts from the nonsense when it comes to video-game news on any other day of the year, and April Fools only serves to exacerbate the problem exponentially. You'd think people would learn to hold their announcements for April 2nd, but instead I'm forced to doubt everything I read today. Thanks a lot, Liars Day!

10. Legends of Zork Launches
I'll admit, that's a pretty convincing screenshot mock-up.

You're bringing the classic text adventure series back as a free-to-play browser-based game? Good one, guys!

It's funny to see publishers mishandle their intellectual properties!

Because Star Trek is for Nerds and Rock Music is for Cool People!

Isn't it hilarious how DLC is being used to charge extra for features that are already in the game?

Get it? Because a large number of people have lost their jobs, and the developer's name has the word “Big” right there in it!

5. Syberia 3 Launching on PS3
An adventure game on the PS3? How droll!

PC gaming is dead LOL!

I'm actually still not 100% sure this isn't supposed to be an April Fools thing. If it is, the joke part is masterfully hidden.

I was waiting for the follow-up story about BioShock: ODST.

Nice try, Giant Bomb, but that's not even a real game.

This is only funny if you know that Dave played football in high school. And I do know that! LOL!

[UPDATE]: Turns out the Syberia thing is, in fact, an April Fools joke. Awesome. That'll teach me to ignore anything I ever hear about Syberia again!
