Tetris Finally Gains a Subscription Fee

You know, if people would just not pay for it...Oh, who am I kidding. Boycotts never work these days.

I love to listen to T-pain in the T-Club.

I remember long before the smart phone era when you had to pay a subscription to play Tetris on your phone (or just about any other mobile game).

The biggest subscribtion game launched in 2011... SW:ToR? No! Rift? No! Tetris? YES!~

I actually laughed out loud when I read this. It's just THAT fucking stupid.

I love me some Tetris to the extent that it's affected my academic performance at times and while this service is obviously designed for crazy people like me, the notion of having a subscription to most anything Tetris astounds me. Tetris is so ubiquitous that, as other people have pointed out, the only time it's ever really worth paying for at this point is for a console or portable version that does something different exceptionally well, like in the case of Tetris DS or The Grand Master. Things were already iffy enough as it was when they introduced pay-to-play elements into Tetris Friends, but that stuff is nowhere near as egregious as a subscription service where you can level up faster (the basics of which are already in the free version of Tetris Friends) and can have access to discounts. Woo hoo.

I own Tetris Battle Gaiden and that's enough.

Fortunately it's an optional thing. If it was a subscription fee just to play Tetris that would be batshit crazy.
