Twisted Pixel Had A Hand In Turbine's Console MMO

A man hopes it's a Harry Potter joint.

An Xbox Live Arcade specialist has had its hands in Turbine's cookie jar at some point in the past, helping the Lord of the Rings Online creators with a console-bound MMO.  This studio is none other than Twisted Pixel, the minds behind such titles as The Maw, 'Splosion Man, and the forthcoming Comic Jumper.

"It's still hush hush, but we just finished a contract with Turbine to help them build an awesome new MMO intended for consoles," the studio blurted on its website, as spotted by Massively. "If you want more than that, you'll have to take it up with Turbine because we can't spill the beans on their top-secret game."

"It was a fun project," the listing adds in past tense, "and we're proud of our work. We can't wait to play it ourselves when it's released."

== TEASER ==This Turbine console MMO remains as mysterious as ever. I've had it in my head that Lord of the Rings Online console has remained the only console MMO the studio is working on, but it's definitely possible this is something different. As Eurogamer notes, more recent rumors have pegged Turbine as working on a Harry Potter MMO, which makes some sense in light of its acquisition by Warner Bros. in 2010.

The notable lack of MMOs on the Xbox 360 for financial and technical reasons makes a case that this MMO may never see a 360 release, but anything is possible on this fair planet. For, example, my iPhone 4 pre-order was never slapped with a delay.

This isn't the first time that Twisted Pixel has done a little contract work. As noted on its website, bits and pieces of Blitz: The League II and NBA Ballers: Chosen One were "owned" by the studio.
