Ok Spoilers ahead one more time for those that cannot read! 
 
Alright I am at the part where Desmond falls asleep and is dreaming he is Altair well here is the problem I chase the target to the tower and he goes inside and locks the door so I start climbing the tower, well...this is where it gets wierd I climb up to the first little balcony and there is a door and a post with a lantern hanging on it when I try to jump to that post I of course hit the lantern well the lantern starts flipping out and flying around the tower at 100mph and I cannot climp up to that post no matter what I do and I am stuck I need help am I going the wrong way or what?

You stand in front of the post on the ledge and just jump straight up.

No problem, a lot of people seem to have trouble here. You should know though if you played the first game, it was a view point and worked the same way.
