I dont know if its because its because the Batman films seem twisted to me or that I always picture Val Kilmer as the man in the pointy ears, but this really reminds me of playing Batman on my megadrive and watching the outstanding cartoons.

Also doesnt hurt that the people making it also develped Urban Chaos: Riot Response, one of my favourite Xbox titles.

I don't know much about the game but I hope it isn't set only in Arkham. A change in scenery with various Gotham areas would be much cooler (imo). Batman: Bioshock (like Jakob said) doesn't sound very appealing.

Given that I'm a nut for all the history behind Arkham Asylum, and I'm pretty sure that they won't be using ANY of that stuff for the story in this game...plus the fact that Arkham isn't THAT big of a place...trying to place the whole game there is relatively dumb to me.

Moreover, the creepy stuff about Arkham comes from the backstory of it, especially if you go back to Serious House on Serious Earth origins.  Unfortunately, I'm just deathly afraid that if the developers DO pull any story from the comics, they'll head to the No Man's Land series...which would piss me off.

But given the focus of the Joker in this, ***SPOILER*** and the fact that he and Harley Quinn end up running Arkham at the end of No Man's Land *END SPOILER*, they could very easily pull some kind of shit like that.

The only saving grace for this game would be a good story, because if they try to make a first-person Batman game, I just might have to end my life with a razor-wire noose.

I didn't know this game was being made. Does it hold any connection to the graphic novel that goes by the same title?

I dont think this is a first person. Its true to the comics as it appernetly follows the Grant Morrisons graphical novels. I think that combat is going to be a huge part of it with a combo meter and given the dark material its meant to be based on violence which Gotham and Batman are, right? Yes there are detective parts, but theres also stealth to mix things up. In my opion I think the graphics are looking top notch the only thing that is slightly worrying is if it is only based in Arkham Asylum. But so far its got high expectations from me.

I looks cool with the whole Chronicles of Riddick vibe, but with the T-rating and little things I have seen so far, I am not going to bet the bank on this one.

Script is co-written by Paul Dini, who produced Batman: The Animated Series, so I don't think that they are using the graphic novels.  He is more than likely going with his own route on it...unless you've got some info somewhere that I haven't heard yet.

As for first person, it was first announced that it would be first-person, based on this quote from the Rocksteady website before the GI announcement of the game:

"Rocksteady Studios is an independent videogame developer based in North London, currently working on our latest FPS title for next-gen platforms."

However, it has since been changed to:

"We are currently working on Batman: Arkham Asylum, our latest 3rd person action title."

So that's a slight relief, but then again, I remember just how horribly Urban Chaos...and Batman Begins...both controlled.  =  /

They just need to stop making Batman games...period...PLOX!

It looks interesting...but the Batman license doesn't have that great of a track record when it comes to video games.

Hmmm, I like the style of the game, but not enough is really out there yet to make some serious predictions. I hope it's good.

I'll take all the DC games I can get. Nothing about this game that I've seen so far makes me think it will be anything but fantastic.

I wish it was closer to 'Serious House on Serious Earth'. Everything had this sort of sick, twisted, dark, disturbing, stylized feel to it. This feels like they took a creepy place, and added in some characters from a kid's show.
