Bioshock Infinite Reviews Dump
The RPS write-up is excellent. While overwhelmingly positive it remains balanced and mentions several reservations which could affect people's purchasing decision (like it did mine).
I have not seen such universal critical acclaim since Skyrim. Now this does not mean the game is too my tastes but i'm totally buying it.
11 hours then the rest of the night will be lost, a little late for me to join the hype train but im jumping aboard
I was expecting this one to fall short of the mark, then the early, vague statements made by this site's editorial staff made me reconsider. I think I can safely claim to stand corrected at this point.
ALL THEM 10's & 5's.
This kinda makes me determined to hate this game. I always did have problems with authority.
Okay Mr. Hipster.

it's okay, he's waiting for the "real" 3-star review from Adam Sessler to justify all his complaints.
($e$$money will probably be digging the shit out of this, truth be told)
@ez123: are you for real ?
...and so begins another night where I cry myself to sleep wishing I had a better PC.

I bought it for my PS3, but I felt my heart sink as I did so.
Really need to get around to building a PC.
@jimmyfenix: I think he was kidding.
Any reports on how the PC version performs?
Also looks like all those checks cleared.
Sessler's review stressed playing it on a PC if possible because it, visually, looked like nothing he had ever seen before (though I'm guessing this is a mixture of art style+graphical fidelity). No idea on FPS and all the other technical stuff though.

That was what sent me over the edge. I went from zero hype to "must buy" just like that. Not that Infinite wasn't on my radar, but I've been pretty much actively avoiding all media coverage, and seeing that one video (and especially hearing him compare it to Half-Life, which was pretty much what I was doing before he even said that) made me need it now rather than waiting for the inevitable price drop in a week.
@kishinfoulux: By and large, everyone is saying play it on PC if possible. Mostly comes down to the game simply looks better, which is pretty expected. There are, however, a few surprising reports that the mouse and keyboard can be a bit funny. So, yeah, if you've got a controller set up for your PC that might be the best way to play.
Wow, Sessler is positively gushing about this game. I was more or less ambivalent about this game before, but now I really feel compelled to get it.
Was waiting for reviews to make sure the game wasn't completely broken or anything but I was always going to get it even if it got middling scores. Great to see that it's getting such praise and can't wait to play it tomorrow. Also happy for Ken Levine, that dude has been doing like a billion interviews and press over the last few weeks and it's cool that he can finally enjoy people playing his game (along with the rest of the people at Irrational).
The only thing that bums me out about this is that some guy might've spoiled it for me on Kotaku (he later said he was only just trolling but who knows). This only really stings after hearing Sessler talk about how much of it needs to be experienced first hand. I need tomorrow.
Oh, wow. This game looks like it's going to be the best game of the year. If only had we something to award said game with...
Glad I pre-ordered it. Steam is unpacking it as I type, but I'll wait until Wednesday afternoon to start playing it. We have a week-long holiday here in Spain starting in two days, so I much rather save for later the sweet experience that Bioshock Infinite is shaping up to be.
Delicious Bioshock Infinite experience.
Pre-load is done, I can't wait to jump into this tomorrow.
It unlocks at 9pm tonight. Play it tonight!
so... time for backlash?
One week for forums, six months for journalists.
@arbitrarywater: polygon score down to 6 by friday? :D
