Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.

Running at 60 FPS is standard for arcade & PC games, but hardware restrictions of consoles often force developers to aim for lower framerates in order to preserve visual detail or allow greater scale. 3D console games hitting 60 FPS are thus uncommon, though the trend of re-releasing games on newer hardware has technically resulted in more 3D console games hitting 60 FPS.
8-bit can be a reference to actual computing power, or it can be a retro look for videogames that want to recall a bygone era.
Games that allow 8 players to play a game on the same console/pc/arcade cabinet simultaneously.
Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.
Extraterrestrials appear in many video games in a variety of styles. Sometimes they're evil, sometimes they're benevolent, and sometimes they're very similar to humans.

A concept found in many puzzle and casual games. Matching blocks of the same color or type to gain points and/or erase the blocks.
The concept of moving blocks around to certain areas such as highlighted squares, or switches, or in order to get past a maze.
Body armor in games acts as additional protection. In most cases, when a player takes damage that would completely affect their health, their body armor reduces the damage taken or takes the damage instead.
A bonus game occurs when playing a game (usually in arcade games). Players do something to get a "free game". Pinball machines almost always call these "specials". It could be getting a certain score, getting a rare item, or doing some specific task.
Bonus levels, rounds, or stages give players a chance to gain extra points, powerups, or lives. Occasionally bonus stages will play completely different than the rest of the game, like as a slot machine or pinball minigame.
Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.
A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
AI Bots are computer-controlled game characters that substitute for characters that are otherwise typically played by a human, and are most commonly found in multiplayer games.
The deliberate animation of breasts, meant to titillate as a means to conform to more realistic physics.
Some game characters just cannot swim. This usually means automatic death as soon as they hit the water.
Some games just weren't meant to be.
A game in which the object is for each team to retrieve the opponent's flag and return it to their own base. Typically used in multiplayer first-person shooter games.

Cheating is the act of creating an advantage by using methods beyond the normal means of the game.
The Classic NES Series of games were re-released versions of NES games for the GBA. Also known as Famicom Mini and NES Classics in Japan and PAL regions respectively.
Collectibles are items such as coins, rings, gems, packages etc. that can be gathered, usually for some kind of reward, or sometimes to simply beat a level. Often (almost too often) the source of earning achievements and trophies on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Cooperative play in games allows humans to play together as a team to accomplish a task. Instead of playing against a human opponent, the team must defeat an AI. Cooperative Play in some games also means 2 human versus 2 human, this occurs in some Billiards games. (Scotch Doubles / Doubles)
