So yeah, you can get your pre-load on on Steam. Same for Torchlight II. Going to be a lot of lootin' to be had for a while, fuck year.
Blands 2's 4.5GB and TLII's 1.4GB, so neither are too hefty at all.
Game » consists of 33 releases. Released Sep 18, 2012

I bought Borderlands 2 through Green Man Gaming, I guess I have to wait till Tuesday for a Steam code?
Both pre-loads are done for me now and the live stream of the Big Live Live Show didn't suffer while doing it :-D
@Lukeweizer: Keys have been going out today

I got mine at 8:29 am this morning so I'm sure you should be getting yours soon.
I have to wait til my Deluxe edition shows up. So I won't get to play til like 5 on Tuesday. Fucking residential deliveries.

@crusader8463: Hmm, I still haven't got my code.
They are probably rolling them out as they get them to folks as they bought them. I bought mine a few moths back. Can't say for sure though.

Nice and early.
Surprised a bit they are both so small. That's efficiency for you i guess.
and bad textures!
Textures seemed just fine in the many hours of various preview coverage.
Also the game itself requires 13gb , the low 4.5gb size is just the compressed steam download apparently, since they introduced the new method recently.

@Venatio Using a proxy won't get you in trouble
Why have I never thought of doing this with Steam, even though I did it for BF3 on Origin at launch. Maybe I won't be waiting until Friday after all.

@Venatio Using a proxy won't get you in troubleWell I wish I knew how to do that
Download a free VPN client, set your IP address to US and start up Stea.
It'll download the unencryption key automatically.
I chose to play offline til it was actually released after (Darksiders II), but I know others didn't bother.
Just make sure not to purchase anything with the VPN activated. You'll likely lose your Steam account.
Anyone familiar with unlock times for new releases? The Borderlands 2 page says it'll unlock in 6 hours which would be around 9 or 10 pm my time (which is Pacific time zone). Is that the universal release time for Steam? Or is that just for East coast? Does it release at Midnight on the East coast and 9pm on the West coast?
@Lukeweizer: I think you might have to incorporate steam time. So it may release anywhere between midnight and 4 PM tuesday EST.
Anyone having a problem with .NET Framework? Mine just keeps installing and then I have to restart, so I restart and it just does the same thing.

Mine did some sort of repair install and then asked me to restart. Never does that.
Does the Steam version have achievements?

It has Steam achievements, yes. I'm trying to look up .NET framework in my programs so I can completely uninstall it and try again. Might just delete the game and re-download it. Did you get some message about repairing .NET Framework or Re-installing it during the installing process?

Yup. Exact message.
@Lukeweizer: I am having this exact problem. Restarted twice before checking the forums to see if anyone else was experiencing this. :(
EDIT 2: By hitting the "Restart Later" button after .NET Framework finished its repairs, I was able to get to the splash screen/menu thing, however hitting "Play" gave me the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. Been a while since I've experienced a BSoD. I managed to get into the game on the second try, so huzzah for me!
@Barrock: @Marmalade: I tried restarting it 3 times. I just deleted the game and am re-installing it. I'll let you guys know what happens.
FUCK ><
I'm not even getting to the restart part of the .NET framework thing, mine just stops and closes the installer automatically. I knew that messed up .net update was going to bite me in the ass. .NET is notorious for when it breaks it's almost impossible to fix in certain cases as it itself functions like an install emchanism and is too ingrained in win7, even reinstallign and using specialist .NET wiping solutions won't do shit. I went through this twice already spending entire days. Now i'm gonna have to reinstall my entire system.

Is there a way to uninstall it from the add/remove programs?
Is it the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 thing in the control panel? If I uninstall that, will it give me the option to repair or re-install it? My friend said to just re-install it instead of repair.

Don't worry. My problem is a bit different then what everyone is having with Steam and .NET right now with Borderlands 2. My .NET installation has been fucked for a long time now.
If you are simply experiencing the restart loop like everyone just let it do the restart once. Next time you can cancel it and the game will play.
