For those who've played Borderlands, you'll know that the game has different companies that certain characteristics to them. For example, Maliwan gus have elemental damage on them whilst Jakob's have good firepower to them. The game seems to prod you on these different companies so I'm wondering if you guys actually really care about this.

Do you pay attention to brand names in Borderlands?
I dont really care but I've noticed that I gravitate towards Tediore and Hyperion, mostly b/c I happen to like their products, not b/c of any 'brand loyalty'.
Oh and Ashin for 'nades (love that Transfusion).
Would be funny if BL2 had 'brand advertising' for the various guns. Like maybe have TVs lying around, showing a bikini babe walking with an Atlas MG or something and have catchy slogans.
I got a level 41 character and logged tons of hours, but I never look at the brand names. It's all just about the stats and enhancements to me. I can't even name any of my guns. It's weird now that I'm thinking about it because I love this game, but I think the brand and model names just look cluttered. and I never give them a second look.
I don't pay attention to brands. Its a cool concept but really its all stats based stuff and things that are high in a certain stat have that brand name stamped on them.
So if you're looking for a certain stat I guess you could just look at the brand name and toss the gun without looking at the stats at all but why do that when it comes up right infront of you.
Not really. I look at the other stats. Does it have elemental effects, how big is the ammo clip, what's the accuracy? I know some brands are known for certain things, but I tend to pick whatever seems to do the best job of killing mobs. Often this means a combination of desired stats is required. In this case, the jack-of-all-trades, master of none methodology works well.
That being said I tend to use Maliwan a lot.
If a gun is better than something that I am currently using, I will always swap, regardless the brand. But, I do look out for Atlus and Hyperion weapons.
Dahl corp seems to have the best balance for my main game playing as a solider. I use the desert Combat rifle (lvl 40) with 330 dmg per round (three shot burst). Its super killy with out the hassle of making sure the target that I am firing at is immune to some elemental attack.
I generally only pay attention to the colors of the gun. Nothing else haha. If it's Orange, i'll take it, if it's green, I won't.
I can only seem to find certain Brands though, like Tediore, Dahl, Jakobs & Hyperion. I have not found any Malawan guns yet for some reason?
And of course i love Dahl for their Shotguns.
I aknowledge the brand names b/c some have bigger clips or do more damadge but I dont play favorites. I only really notice Maliwan and S&S now b/c I've found kick ass guns from those two companies and they have good elemental but other than that what does it matter
I just look at the stats. All I can remember is Jakobs brand guns hurt like hell as far as raw damage goes.
"If it takes more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs!"
