Am I missing something? Those videos look like butt. The combat ones look like a bunch of guys running about in circles blasting at each other for too long with piddly guns.
I'll take Jeff's word on this for now. Perhaps it's better to play than watch.

Looks like fun.  Some of these guys are going to be harder to kill than I would have guessed, though.  I wonder if certain enemy types have weaknesses to certain weapon effects. 

 At every step of prerelease publicity for this comes out, it is perfectly matching my expectations of this game. I have no idea what the "meh"s and haters were wishing this would be. But whatever, I am still as irrationally hyped for this game as many of y'all are irrationally critical of it.

 Enemy AI is definitely starting to make me nervous.  Im not looking for a cover mechanic but the gameplay reminds me of Doom.  Enemies just seem to stand there occasionally shooting while the player circle strafes a little.  That said, the unique guns and the overall art style are keeping me interested.

It's weird, watching these the first time, I felt upset. The hits felt like they had no impact, and the AI was elementary. However, watching again, without the expectations I had before, I'm diggin it. Action RPG's have the same 2 problems, this is the same, but in the 1st person perspective. 
 
As for the level cap, I think they said 50. If true, I hope they will raise it eventually, like in Fallout 3.

I am surprised by the lack of blood. Oh well, I will probably get it to please Randy Pitchford.

I'm very curious about this game...BUT  I sure do like it when I shoot anything at all, for it to go down.  100+bullets to a baddy in any other game would make me supremely frustrated. *ahem* Drakes Fortune.

Man, I just can't get into this.  I don't understand the people that don't understand the "meh"s from people (like me).  It's just as I was worried, that because it's an RPG they make you start out horribly weak.  It just feels so wrong the way they did this in a FPS.  It takes forever to kill something.  Why?  Because it's an RPG! You gotta level up to get strong guns that can actually hurt enemies vs chip away at them.

yeah me too. Especially that all i ever see is running in circles in the same fucking spot since the first video, just shooting with a "variety" of guns that look bad and look the same, a couple of types of enemies and dogs.....  what the fuck else is going on in this game ? "

It just looks like a comic-book, cel-shaded Fallout 3... maybe with a little Bioshock thrown in.

Awesome, cant wait!  While I see the omission of a trade interface as a huge design mistake, its not going to bother me much because I will only be playing this with friends anyway.  That said, I do hope Gearbox patches it in later.

Seems a bit chaotic and I share the concern on low damage feedback. If you play solo, what's the 2nd enemy in a pair going to be doing while it takes you 30 seconds to kill the 1st enemy?

The lack of blood and gibs is disappointing.

I`m beginning to like this game again. the more i understand how it is set up. This is why I have 2 systems, because I know what I`d like to put on both, Brutal legend on one when it comes out... I think I can get used to Borderlands scope of interests and it`s put  together as a true hybrid, the other stuff will fall in line. Already does, I was seeing the more subtle graphics and motion, plus the art. It has more depth than a ist impression mabe gets..  I like the atmosphere, and really liked what music I heard (claptrap can sutup tho`, another trailer I think). I`m tired of being so comitted to 1st and 3d straight shooters, but i even had trouble with fallout 3. On the other hand, I played the old Deus Ex and System shock 2...i can do it!
