    Early Genesis Classic

Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse is one of the earlier releases for the Sega Genesis and it showed just what the Genesis was capable of. Compared to the graphical capability of the Genesis, Nintendo looked like a child's toy and this may be the start of Sega's early 90's reign before the Super Nintendo's release. Castle of Illusion is a game with such amazing creative charm, the most colorful worlds, one of the best game soundtracks, fantastic gameplay, it was basically perfect early Genesis material, certainly enough to put it over the edge as a console other developers need to work on.

I think what Disney does for movies it totally did for video games on this one. Amazing worlds full of vibrant colors and they just feel full in scope. Mickey is adorable as a character and is probably my favorite character to ever arrive on the Genesis. The controls are fantastic, one thing people say is the controls are floaty but it's consistent with the game itself, the game is built around those mechanics, like Castlevania. This is incredible. It is close to my favorite Sega Genesis game. Get it.
