    Haematological Histrionic Heroes 0

I do wonder if people appreciate the genius of 2k’s WWE games. Their quality or lack thereof is of no moment when one considers that hours upon hours of fun can be had with pretty much no wrestling at all. What it, and to a lesser extent Code Vein, does is simply create a playground to show off your creations. Creating a character is fun, dressing them up is fun, showing them off is fun; everything else is more of a bonus really. Having a great game attached to your character creator is of...

Code Vein is more than just anime Dark Souls 0

It's very easy to reduce Code Vein to Dark Souls but with more anime tropes. At a glance that's pretty much what it is. There are genre conventions of both Souls-like (Blight Town and Anor Londo equivalents) and anime (like flashy choreographed fight scenes, melodramatic confessions of love, and a character who looks like she's 16, but is actually much older.) TLDR: Code Vein is a tactless, tasteless and thoroughly unworthy attempt to clone the Dark Souls formula onto an abysmally vapid 'anime' world.I love Dark Souls. Those series of games are amongst my most favorite of any, and I will go to fairly great lengths to consume more of that formula, even if it's far from perfect. This thirst for more Souls games has let me to series such as Nioh, The Surge and even Lords of the Fallen (send help). As it lead me to this recently discounted title on Steam...

poor early game.. existing souls fans may find the struggle worth it 0

TL;DR - This game starts out very awkward and clunky for players who have never played games in the Dark Souls / Monster Hunter genre. Existing fans of unforgiving dodge/parry/iframe combat are treated to a cool anime style, attractive character customization, and the interesting blood code system. Playing on PC mouse-keyboard is very clunky and rough.I found the first ~8 hours of Code Vein play completely awful. If you learn only one thing from this review.. you should know that many of the badl...

A soulslike that is like no other soul 0

Code Vein is an action adventure anime style RPG with heavily inspired elements from the Dark Souls series formula. Despite taking some inspiration from Dark Souls this game falls hard on the floor when it comes to what makes those kinda games fun and engaging. Although this game has many build variety and play styles that are the main focus to mix up combat, it easily becomes cluttered and overwhelming. This game is stylistic in some aspects, one area stands out the most but it's ripped right f...
