Helicopters are flying vehicles, typically with a single large main rotor to maintain lift with a tail rotor to counter rotation induced by this main rotor. They are useful in air to ground combat as well as for quickly inserting and recovering infantry close to the front line.
Whether it's worn for protection or style, helmets appear in various game genres.
A hovering board, the sci-fi equivalent of a Skateboard.
Used to open doors, or anything else that is locked. In any game where the player has an inventory, it's a safe bet that a key will appear at some point.
Kilts are knee-length lower body garments traditionally worn by Scottish men and boys.
Lava is molten rock, usually from the interior of a planet, and in games is often used as a hazard to players, or as a visible gameplay-area boundary.
Machine guns, generally, are heavier weapons with a rapid rate of fire. To quote the Quake manual, they "eat ammo like popcorn."
Magnum is a term for a pistol or rifle cartridge packed with extra gunpowder to make it significantly more powerful than a standard round. Guns which have been designed to fire this ammunition often share the Magnum label.
Marijuana is a recreational drug that occasionally appears in video games, usually those with a crime theme.
The delicious dairy drink that comes from mammals. Some games use it as a power up / health boost, while others use it as a resource. Substitutes can be comprised of rice, soy, and apparently, hemp.
Used to turn wind or water energy into useable mechanical work.
A nut is a seed covered with a protective shell.
A tool in games. In some, they are used for simple drawing, but for others, it's a powerful tool as it make object appear.
A paint can, or "can o' paint" if you will, is an object that frequently shows up in games, but often goes unnoticed.
Currency consisting of printed paper.
A pistol is a very basic hand-held side arm, usually used in case of low ammo or tricky situations. They have appeared in many types of games.
Multiple pronged tool for gardening, and/or murder.
A mechanical device that rotates to push against air or water.
A mechanical lifeform, typically exhibiting superhuman abilities, that can be found in games as either the main protaganist or as powerful enemies or allies.
An explosive ordinance propelled by a chemical reaction that causes a controlled explosion resulting in thrust. Rockets are usually "dumb" weapons, meaning that they are not guided. Rockets are the most powerful projectile in many games.
A weapon that launches rockets.
Sand is a fine, granular material composed mainly of rock and mineral, primarily silica. Sand is the primary environment of many games with settings that include deserts, beaches, and the ocean floor, among many others.
Bags filled with sand. Often used for fortification in war zones or flooding.
The most powerful weapon at short range. Effective against Zombies, Nazis, Demons, etc. Videogame shotguns tend to have exaggerated inaccuracy at long range- real life shotguns are still fairly accurate over a decent distance, while videogame shotguns rarely go more than fifteen feet before becoming completely ineffective.
A primitive ranged weapon that is used in various games. Usually is replaced by more powerful ranged weapons, such as a bow and arrow.
