Inverted camera and inverted controls should be separate options

This is killing analogue fighting for me. I always invert the Y-axis for camera control, but this game inverts the analogue fighting controls as well. So doing a LT+up-down doesn't go for an overhead strike, it does an uppercut.

They need to separate those controls so I can have an inverted camera, but normal fighting controls. Is this bugging anyone else?

Wow, did NO ONE test the game? Weird that they didn't think of that.

But that's what you get fro inverting your controls! You monster!

@MordeaniisChaos: Testers wouldn't really have any influence over design decisions like that.

Ha that will teach people to play games the right way: NO INVERTS.

Inverts are onley for crazy people: "duuuh I like to go right when I push left derp derp deeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp".

Ugh, this reminds me of Silent Hill: Homecoming, sure you can aim your gun inverted but be damned if you just want to look around that way aswell!

i had the same problem as the TC at first, then i got used to it. Playing as Xian the best slashes are horizontal anyway

Yeah, it looks like that's what I'll be doing too - mainly sticking to horizontal attacks. Hopefully I'll get used to it, otherwise I'll just switch out to digital attacks once I hit the analogue fighting achievement.

It's a shame, because I really like the analogue fighting. Reminds me of Infinity Blade.

@cinemandrew: That's total horse shit. That's the reason devs like Valve spend so much time on playtests. That is practically a bug. I doubt that was a "design decision". More than likely it was just a "hey we didn't think of the implications" kinda situation. There is no good reason to invert the controls on that.

Like I said in the "ruinning the experience" thread, this is the worst thing about the game for me. Oddly enough, I think my mind was able to adjust to inverse fighting in a few hours so it's not a deal breaker.

I am now glad that I did not buy this game, because I too always invert the Y-axis for aiming, but that's crazy. Hopefully they'll patch it or something.

After a few hours, I found that I adjusted my playing style to get around it.

You only need vertical hits to hit grounded enemies (using the overhead hit) and you quickly become used to just hitting LT-down-up automatically. Yeah it's technically the wrong motion to make if you stop and think about it, but you quickly get over it. It just becomes a reflex, like throwing a fireball in Street Fighter.
