I think this should help ease a lot of peoples worries, the game looks great from what I can tell, though I never doubted that this game would be good.

Dead Space 3 Eudora Gameplay Walkthrough
What did that audio guy actually do? Pretty much all of the sounds seem identical to the previous games.
Anyway, it looks like more Dead Space, which isn't bad per se; but there's a reason that a lot of franchises do something drastically different in the third game...

Those previous games had some of the best sound design on the market. I'd say they done plenty of different stuff over the course of the series so far, the pacing and set-pieces of 2 were quite different from the original.
I think I was right in that the gun-combining thing is just a mix-and-match for their functions. Ie; mix horizontal plasma cutter with saw blade, or mix force gun primary fire with plasma cutter alt fire, or keep regular plasma cutter and regular force gun etc
I wonder if we'll ever stop with people FLIPPING THE FUCK OUT every time they see 3 minutes of action at E3 and rush to their keyboards to type ruined forever.
Looks amazing, I just hope there isn't a cutscene every 2 minutes like that trailer shows. The beauty of Dead Space was spending long periods of time on your own moving around and surviving, an uncut experience of pure gameplay that was occasionally embellished or progressed by a fantastic cutscene or quick time event. Not a series of thrilling sequences and cutscenes with the occasional "freedom to the player" bit..

Could I be playing co-op for this, or co-op a separate campaign?
From what I understand it's a drop-in drop-out kind of co-op, in the same campaign as the singleplayer one. So if you're playing this on your own and your friend comes online he can jump in and help you out.

From a gameplay perspective this sound like a really fucking cool addition, however, imo, it completely nullifies any feeling of horror and dread. Dread, fear, and horror are hard enough to do in games for one player but to successfully integrate horror where two people are involved...To me the only game that did that for a coop mode was Demon's Souls and that's mainly for the lack of voice communication with the second player.
I feel like this would have been better served as separate coop missions a la Uncharted 2.
So, a few things:
- Why didn't they show this at E3? Looks a lot more promising.
- Both these guys talked about how DS3 changed things up with mummies and dogs, but honestly I didn't notice a difference. Looks like the same enemies to me.
- I'm over this cinematic, cut-scene thing. Just let me play the cool parts instead. Best part of this demo was Isaac approaching the derelict ship in space. Why can't we have more of that? DS2 had this awesome moment at the end where nothing happens for like 20 mins. I loved that part.
- Production values are still high. I just love how this game looks and sounds.
Overall, DS3 doesn't like a complete fuck up after this video, but I'm not sure if I want to play another DS game. At least not if it's the exact same thing as DS2.
I just saw this now and I had to stop watching after 6 minutes because I just don't want to spoil anymore of the gameplay for myself. All of it looks really really good, although I am a huge fan of Dead Space so I would like the third game regardless. Just love the sci fi aesthetic, the characters and weapons. March really can't come soon enough!
Definitely looks like Dead Space to me, which is very good since the E3 demo was starting to look like RE6... however the only thing I don't really like is the fact that it whenever they introduce a new enemy type it zooms in on it. What was scary about the last two was that you would only catch glimpses or hear something disturbing happening in the next room. Then it was like BAM this new horrible creature is right in your face and you're looking for a new way to kill it. i suppose since right now their showing the new "mummy" necromorphs they feel its the same monsters with different skins.

In my opinion RE6 looked bad from the start, the E3 demo for Deadspace was high action, but I still though it looked miles above RE6, its bad action set pieces, clunky looking controls, and cheesy voice acting. I think Deadspace handles action pretty damn well, and people seem to forget that there was plenty of action, and claustrophobic, alone feeling, scary sections in Deadspace 2, and even the first. The fact is that if a main character has fought this many bad guys, of course he is going to be a little less tense around them than the first time he saw them.
Yeh, I always loved Dead Space because of both, setting (atmosphere etc.) and very good gameplay.
I don't even like shooter that much but oh boy, blasting of both of a necrmorph's legs via some clutch Plasma Cutter shots? Fuck yeah!
That said, the plot in Dead Space 2 was really disappointing and while I think the pure gameplay aspect of Dead Space 3 will be fine I'm not sure if they can deliver on plot and story. And even if the gameplay is good, I hope it the gameplay type doesn't become too much "bro-shooter" alike :/
Wait, not trying to bitch, when did Dead Space have cut-scenes where they left out of frame? I know they had moments like a ship exploding and him flailing about but they also kept the feeling that they could give control back at any second.
EDIT: Watched the DS2 quicklook and apparently the cut-scene stuff is totally in the previous games. I have to say I'm interested in how the story goes in this game...and what they could do with the fourth considering it would be a stretch for another Issac Clarke expedition...have to wait see and such...
It's in the second game but not in the first. I think it's a shame they abandoned the idea of never moving the camera from the over-the-shoulder position. Really added to the immersion.Wait, not trying to bitch, when did Dead Space have cut-scenes where they left out of frame? Not that it mattered cuz I'll play DS3 regardless, but this just makes the wait that much longer. It just looks so damn good.
I just love the sci-fi vibe of Dead Space, the industrial grit and grime of the ships and all the interesting manipulatable mechanisms. I thought the mix of cutscene and gameplay in 2 was about as much as I want, so I hope they don't overdo it...but still, I cannot wait to play more Deadspace, co-op, sp, anything.
Also, I don't remember an audio dev use the word 'sonically' quite like that guy. And good on them for putting this out for the loyal fans like they said.
YOU BASTARDS! STOP TEASING ME! I'm trying to avoid everything Dead Space 3 and other games from now on! I can't be spoiled by videos anymore!!!!

That's when you disable the option to let people join your game and shit your pants the way your meant to.
@BeachThunder: I kind of agree about the sound, but more specifically, the music. I love the music for the most part from Dead Space, but it just seemed weird to me that they'd use the same soundtrack carried over from the original. As for the rest of the sound; realistically, that wouldn't really change at all, so it shouldn't, but it will at least sound better, just as Dead Space 2's familiar sounds sounded a little better than its original.
