Holy shit if true!

Deadly Premonition
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Feb 23, 2010
An open-world action-adventure game following an eccentric FBI agent as he investigates a series of bizarre murders in the small rural town of Greenvale.
PAL Release confirmed?
According to HMV, the game would be released in September 17h at a retail price of 25 punds.
I checked this web some weeks ago and there was no release date at all, so maybe Deadly Premontion is actually comting to Europe, yay!
Anyway, juuuuuust in case.... if you haven't showed your support yet, go to Rising Star Games' boards ( ttp://www.risingstargames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=62&start=380 and post as hard as you can asking for the game to be released!
" @Abyssfull said:Yay! Good for you guys!" I certainly hope so! I skipped the entire DP endurance run for this very possibility. "me too. "

Ok, GiantBombers, take a look at this:
http://www.siliconera.com/2010/07/09/we-predict-rising-star-will-bring-deadly-premonition-to-europe/
DP has been rated by the German rating boards. Therefore, DP is confirmed to be released in Germany.
" ^ Dude all PS3 games are region free anyway so European PS3 owners can import away and have their fun. Poor 360 chaps have to live with the curse of region locking and Deadly Premonition is one of those region locked games. "Yeah but it doesn't have English subs or menus...
Here it is:

So I hear this game has a sort of cult following? From the reviews I read, it's garbage, but colour me intrigued simply because of the fans here. Can anyone tell me why they like it? I'll have to consider buying it when it does come here to Europe.
" Here it is:FAKIN SEXY-AWESOME!

Something Awful summed it up nicely:
- The graphics are terrible.
- The character models are terrible.
- The animations are terrible.
- The weapons are terrible.
- The combat and controls are terrible.
- The sound effects are terrible.
- The map and guidance system is terrible.
- The music is terrible.
Here's an excellent article that I fully agree with. No spoilers for Part 1.

As for why I like it... Too many reasons to count. I think most gamers have a pre-set opinion of what constitutes a "good" game, and it took Deadly Premonition to break some of us free of those prejudices. It has almost nothing going for it using the measuring stick of today's next-gen gaming criteria, and yet it succeeds on all the right notes: Even people who hated playing it forced themselves to keep going just for the story and characters, and how often does that ever happen? The way it grows into something else, something totally unexpected as you play it, is entirely unique.
Anyway, it might not be for you, but you might as well throw yourself in the deep end. It's not every day a game like this comes along, and you can at least say you were there when it happened. Going into it with low expectations is a good idea, and pretty easy to do, as almost nothing makes sense at the beginning.
Also, if you ever do pick it up, which I highly recommend, do read the Beginner's Guide I posted a little below this thread. No spoilers, and you'll avoid pretty much all the problems people complain about when playing for the first time. Many of the game's so-called flaws that cause reviewers to trash it can be easily circumvented, and you'll have a much more pleasant experience. I also suggest playing with a friend as the combat sections are a little slow and it helps to have someone around to talk to during these parts.
I aim to spread as much good word as possible about DP, mainly 'cuz it's just such a rare kind of event in the gaming community and it really deserves to be talked about. I wouldn't seek out any more info about it because it's really the most fun when you go into it not really knowing what to expect; you may not like parts of it at first, but that's normal. Just stick with it for as long as possible. If you can't make it, I guess you could watch the Endurance Run... as a last resort.
Anyway, get back to us if you ever pick it up! I eagerly await the new wave of European DP fans.
Up on amazon.co.uk as well, for £20.99.

Look, the game will be released in UK, but you must be over 15 years old in order to play it:

So this is all for sure now? Just don't want to get my hopes dashed again. I seem to remember a report of it coming to Europe before that was debunked pretty quick.
Yes, we're getting it for sure, look at the British and German rating boards, the game is coming." So this is all for sure now? Just don't want to get my hopes dashed again. I seem to remember a report of it coming to Europe before that was debunked pretty quick. "
Also, some Rising Star Games staff started hinting the game is coming in their official webpage like one or two days ago, imagine why...
"Zeouterlimits: Time to start promoting your licence of Deadly Premonition! http://www.bbfc.co.uk/ADM270690
risingstargames: what's that, Zack?
Zeouterlimits: Boom! When will we see a press release? "
"risingstargames: should I have another piece of cake?
jos4: My coffe told me you deserve another piece of cake...
risingstargames: The coffee never fails. "
I predict we'll just have to wait a few more days for the official press release to come.
" @jos4: That's great, I've avoided the endurance run this far and was close to caving. Is this due to fan demand? "Yeah, it's been hard waiting all these months, I was totally hooked into VR.
Well, that's hard to tell, but there was a huge amount of people asking for the game to be released in RS boards, so it is entirely possible.
So glad to see this finally coming to Europe. Too bad Rising Star is only publishing it for the 360, however... would have been great for PS3 owners to get it as well without having to resort to importing from Japan (and getting trophies they can understand).
I only watched a few of the first endurance run episodes so not much has been spoiled. FWIW, the PAL boxart looks more like the original Japanese Red Seeds Profile one.
So I guess the PAL release date for the 360 in Europe is officially Sept 17? Yes amazing bullseye if true.

Now they just need to release Culdcept Saga for PAL as well.
Like that'll ever happen. :(
Considering Deadly Premonition sold just under 84,000 copies in the US I'm honestly shocked they consider it worth to port to PAL.
I'm probably just bitter about not being able to play Culdcept Saga. :P
...I just did my regular, hopeless search on play.com for Deadly Premonition, like I do everytime I visit the site, and damn!
I should have known that I would not have been the first to discover this, but this is unspeakably great news!!
...Now I must definitely give up on giving up on smoking for a little more than a month.
Excellent news! I hope the boxart isn't final but I have £10 left of an Amazon giftcard, and it's been reduced to £17.99 now. I'll definitely be getting this for £8! News on Xbox360Achievements: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-5989-Uh-Oh--Deadly-Premonition-Is-PAL-Bound.html

DEADLY PREMONITION PAL RELEASE CONFIRMED
Rising Star Games, publisher of games such as Little King's Story and the No More Heroes series has secured the rights to publish Deadly Premonition.
Access Games' Deadly Premonition has become infamous for being extremely controversial among reviewers. While some responded well to its odd story and dialogue others dismissed the title as a just plain awful game.
Deadly Premonition is an open-world effort that takes place in a secluded rural town in North West America. FBI Agent Francis York is sent to investigating the ritualistic and brutal murder of a local girl, naturally - things quickly take a turn for the worse.
The game has been awarded scores that span the entire scale, from a 2/10 to a 10/10.
Deadly Premonition will be available for £24.99 in the autumn exclusively on the Xbox 360. Check out the screenshots below for more on the game.

...The boxart on the one at amazon definitely needs change, I guess the one at play and the other place is better.
Weird how amazon only shows screenshots from the first versions of the game, with the prettyboy versions of both York and the sheriff... Almost got me worried that they would do an inexplicable and horrible take on the Nier Gestalt/Nier Replicant formula.

Like these on Amazon.co.uk?

So these are just from an early version?

Yup, I'm pretty sure they scrapped those, some say to lessen the similarities to certain characters from a tv-show if I remember correctly, might just have been because they didn't look badass enough...
Anyone know if this version will be region locked to European territories only, or whether it will work on Australian consoles?
I must know... D:
" @DarkFury said:That's David Young Hennig. He's Francis York Morgan's predecessor. If the models were in fact changed to distance them from the actors in Twin Peaks, the sheriff does kind of look like Harry Truman from the show, but David Hennig doesn't look all that much like Agent Cooper. I'd buy the idea that he was just too generic Japanese-protagonist-looking and not American FBI agent enough; I'm glad they changed him. Also Zach's name used to be something weird like Zeta or Zork or something. Those screenshots I believe are from the 2007 version of the game when it was supposed to be releasd, which is probably why the story is set in 2006 (fifty years ago it was 1956). They took the three years to swap out all the models, and I think they also re-recorded all the dialogue, which makes me wonder if some of those long text-based dialogue scenes once had voice work attached to them The world may never know!So these are just from an early version?
