So I'm looking at this black hole of Disney Infinity stuff and considering diving in head first. But I'm not sure where to start. I'm a big fan of both Marvel and Star Wars, so not sure whether to go 2.0 or 3.0 and get the playsets I want?

Anyone else fallen down this rabbit hole recently?

I just recently did the same thing. I started with 2.0 because it was cheaper so if it turned out I didn't really like it it wasn't a big loss.

I got the avengers and guardians playset but neither one played really great so I wasn't going to pick up 3.0 but I got the original playset and game and it plays a lot better than 2.0. It's really enjoyable actually.

@beefygrandmole: went with 3.0 as it was on sale, and the cool looking Hulkbuster works with it!
