Dragon Ball Z Budokai is a fun 3D fighter
Dragon Ball Z Budokai is a #d fighting game with sidestepping, and combos to pull of energy moves. The game has nice smooth 3D graphics and amazing cut scenes acted out pretty much exactly from the show. The frame rate never gives out, and stays at a nice pace to make this run an flow very nicely.
The gameplay for DBZ Budokai is played at a very nice pace, more on the slow side and allows you to punch and kick,, and also glide toward your opponent. You can't really fly, but when you knock your opponent into the air, you'll both be fighting in the air, it doesn't really feel like flying. To pull off a Kamehameha you have to punch 4 times then press the energy (ki) button. You are able to do in game transformations too, by pressing the punch, kick, and energy button all at once, but you have to keep at certain level of your energy.
In the game you have to collect capsules for each character, which are moves, ans special moves, but you can only use up too certain capacity of capsules. Then you can duel it out with a friend and their own characters from their own memory card, and compete in worl tournaments from three difficulties, which can get fairly hard on expert. The game carries the same voice actors from the anime show (FUNimation dub).
Overall this game is a good fighting experience, and very fun to play on 2 player and through the story once or twice. I recommend DBZ fans to check this out for sure, but not for everyone.
