I went in wanting to like this game, I really did. But encounter after encounter, dialogue after dialogue this game just makes me feel fucking depressed. And I wish it didn't, I don't even know what this game is.
its the great divide, guess some people just need, whats that concept again??? a sense of humor. not like there has EVER been a really good classy attempt at video game humor. we got what leisure suit larry to copare it too? its a great game and if you dont like it your opinion is trash... period.
Whilst I haven't played the game first-hand, imagining Duke looking at a wide-open vista and saying 'I can see my dick from here!' makes me chuckle.

Grim Fandango, Monkey Island, Sam & Max? (and practically any other adventure game series).
It's true that a lot of games don't attempt humour, but I don't consider saying "penis" and misquoting movie lines to be particularly funny either.
I find it funny that people somehow got it into their heads that Duke was ever a good character.
Like they said on the podcast: Duke didn't change. We did.
It's sort of funny to look at the video game industry and see the way it has evolved. It used to be all about stupid middle-school jokes and half-naked women. Then as the developers grew up and developed a better taste for things stories became more fleshed out and people took risks with character development and gameplay. Then it almost seems as the developers grew older and had to start taking care of families they realized taking risks doesn't make money, so they looked at what worked and made Halo and Call of Duty. hahah...I find it funny that people somehow got it into their heads that Duke was ever a good character.

"...such freaking morons on these forums..."
This is where we dive headfirst into the world of perceived trolling. We don't need another thread touting DNF's qualities while attempting to incite the userbase. We already have a few "I like Duke Nukem Forever and disagree with the majority" threads that don't involve outright insulting anyone who disagrees.
By the same token, to everyone who's posting nonsense or troll accusations, don't just post nonsense in a thread if you don't like it. If you think a thread is worthless or violates our rules, flag it and move on. Posting a reply does absolutely nothing to help.
