Just started. Looks like some of the contestants are from the speedrunning/youtube community and the first game is Splatoon. But also there is a 9-year-old doing commentary so I'm not really sure if I'm into this or just passively cringing.
E3 2015

The twenty-first annual Electronic Entertainment Expo took place June 16-18, 2015 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
Anyone watching the Nintendo World Championships?
@arbitrarywater: Oh thank god.
Edit: Oh great it looks like one of the commentators is trying to pick up where the kid left off...
Game 3 is Blastball. I cannot wait for some more quality commentary.
Quality commentary from hot youtube personalities and also children! Finally.

It's like watching 2003 e-sports coverage.
Blastball looks like a super boring version of Deathball/Supraball that without any sort of spectator mode sucks shit to watch in any competitive manner.
It's way too slow and imprecise-looking. Nothing against it in concept—Supraball and Rocket League are both super fun—but ugh. It seems like an afterthought mode that'd be in a full-fledged FPS nobody would play more than once.
Overall seems to be about what I'd expect from a Nintendo competitive event. Seems fine. It's going to be rated G.
I like that they put in something old, so they aren't afraid to go back to their roots and it's not all just about pushing the latest product. I also like that they used this as a way to announce a game, even if it is a smaller game. Kinda like what Jeff said about wouldn't it be interesting if they built some sort of mini-game in the new Zelda and let people play that. Its potentially interesting to watch even if you don't care about the competitive aspect.
I also like Kevin, but hes probably a bit rusty.
It's an even more harsh swing from how fast and crazy Splatoon is.
Elimination game is Super Metroid!
Yep, I thought that Blastball game looked pretty cool. I'd probably play a bit if the price was right and it ran alright.
I was shocked to find out that Kevin "the inventor of e-sports" Pereira is still doing things.
That guy is still relevant, he does that podcast I don't really listen to.
@tits_matador: Wait is he to blame for that term?
If this was a Final Fantasy speedrun elimination challenge Essentia would've wrecked those fools!
Stage 3 is Mario Kart 8.
@hassun: I mainly meant that proto e-sports show he hosted on G4, but probably!
@jiggajoe14: the triggers on the Wii U gamepad bring up the Virtual Console menu.
New Smash characters "officially" revealed right now?
Yeah, Roy and Ryu are available for download right now.
@arbitrarywater: If he'll have to play Smash as well he'll win again.
If you weren't watching the stream, Reggie totally won! If you were watching, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. #NWC2015pic.twitter.com/6rrjiMH1TS

Well that guy seemed like a huge asshole. Unless that is his shtick.. Super Awkward. Nice return by Reggie at the end there.

It's banter, dude.
Mario Maker looks insane!
This is probably Shigeru Miyamoto's next masterpiece. It has the potencial to be a huge system seller.
It's funny as Nintendo was according, to everyone and me, almost ready to throw in the towel, and then they happen to create a game that has what is missing this generation: novelty and fun factor.
Maybe this will get Nintendo back in the game. Hard, but it is possible.
