Haha, that was amazing. This is looking to be a great event for Nintendo. Too bad the Wii U is still criminally underrated, and most people won't give it a chance no matter what, despite it being an awesome system to own.

tbh though i was always a fan i think ninty's really holding their own lately. looking forward to some surprises. don't think the wii u will be counted out yet.

they watched and commented on the video last year, pretty sure nintendo takes precedence over square all things considered.

For all the stiff acting, Reggie saying "Nintendo is great, I really had the best job in the world" sounded like the most genuine thing I've heard an executive say in a long god damn while. Also, yeah, Nintendo is great... Except when they aren't I guess, but mostly, they're just great.

@civid: Yes , Nintendo might be out of touch with the rest of the world at times, but that company always gives me a family / happy vibe.

With the advent of social media and the such, people that otherwise would be almost constantly behind the scenes for video games have kind of become the unofficial faces of companies/departments. It's probably super stressful to be someone responsible for major business decisions but also have to show a good face to the fans.

Both Reggie and Iwata regularly star in dumb, great stuff like this.

I wouldn't have been surprised if part of the reason that Spencer was picked to be Mattrick's replacement is because Spencer is immediately a way more approachable guy that seems willing to engage with the fanbase in a semi-meaningful way. Not that I mean to downplay the guy's business sense or smarts, but it would have been a factor. Mattrick was getting worse at that every day, though having to explain away the dubious choices MS was making at the time didn't help much.
