Bats, hammers, wrenches, maces, staves, or even brass knuckles. These are weapons intended for blunt trauma rather than cutting or slicing.
Bruisers are characters who depend on their fist and realize that most of life's problems can be solved with a punch. Typically bruisers don't fight with any real style or technique, instead they tend to simply rely on raw strength.

When a character introduced in a previous game reappears with the same name, but a significantly different appearance. This is usually not mentioned or explained within the game, often because the storyline has been reset as well.

Some first-person games that wish to immerse the player in the experience more will go as far as to include full body awareness, or the ability to see the player character's body when looking down.
A grief beard is facial hair that appears on a character after something tragic happens to them in a storyline. The amount of tragedy and how the character is handling it can often be seen in the beard itself.
Insanity is a condition whereby the sufferer is of unsound mind. Depending on the condition of the individual, he or she may be prone to fits of uncontrollable violent behavior, hallucinations, or other symptoms.

Law is a rule or a system of rules, usually enforced through a set of institutions, applied to govern a group.

Less-lethal weapons are weapons intended to be less likely to kill than a conventional weapon. Less-lethal weapons are used in riot control and self-defense.
Murder is the act of ending the life of another living thing against its will without the sanction of a higher governmental authority, such as the casualties that result from acts of war. It is generally intentional, at least in a legal meaning, but not necessarily.
Any character you can control in a game is a Player Character (PC), as opposed to a non-player character (NPC), which is a character that can only be controlled by the game.
Swearing, cursing, call it what you want. It is an expression of anger or frustration, in most cases.
Games where abusing alcohol and/or drugs gives the players an in game benefit - such as additional health, bullet-time, or other abilities.
