Classic Appearances
Fire Mario, throwing a fireball (Super Mario Galaxy). The Fire Flower is one of the items that
Mario and
Luigi can use to take down their enemies. When Mario and Luigi are Super Mario or Super Luigi, the Fire Flower can appear from ? boxes. Once obtained, the player receives the ability to shoot
fireballs from his hands. If the player is hit he will immediately loses this fire-flinging ability. The Fire Flower has also appeared in many other Mario games, including
Super Mario Bros. 3,
Super Mario Bros.,
New Super Mario Bros.,
New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and
Super Mario World.
Other Appearances
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time the flowers were referred to as "Bros. Flowers" and when obtained would cause Mario and Luigi to fire a multitude of fireballs at their opponents. The flowers appear in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis and in Super Mario Galaxy and when obtained the player could throw fire balls, but only for a limited time. Mario Galaxy was the first 3D Mario game to feature the fire flower. In Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door the flowers were inventory items found in the world and when it was used it would do damage to all enemies on the screen.
