    Good driving experience but...

This game is a launch title for the PS3, so the graphics are good but the max resolution 720p. Having said that the engine sounds are great each car sounds different in a very distinct and suttle way but you notice it. The game has a light element of car setup but it doesn't feel like the changes affect the car significantly. There are also a few driving aids and options to make driving a little more accessible, such as brake assist, steering assist, auto or manual gearbox, TCS, and other amenities.  Driving is pretty hard with everything turned off, REALLY HARD. Maintaining a good raceline throughout the race without steering assist is very hard, now that's without cars throw in some cars and it's quite a feat to keep your car in the race track or from spinning out exiting a corner. Having every assist turned off isn't fun or challenging its just plain frustrating. I had a blast just turning on the steering assist and leaving the gearbox auto. TCS and ABS  are the only elements that aren't on or off, these have 3 levels. Level 1 being the loosest and hardest to drive, and 3 being the tightest and easiest to drive. TCS on 3 and ABS on 2 will definitely challenge you.

The career portion of the game is great because you create your driver and start from the bottom of the F1 roster and work yourself up the teams but after you win the constructors and the drivers championship there's really nothing fun to do. Podium animations are pretty so-so because its always the same animations for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and there are no F1 babes giving you the champagne bottle and other little details like the crowds look awfully pixeled and there are no flags on the crowd or the track officials. Little amenities that if they were in the game this would've been a great game.
This game is for 1 player at home and 11 players online.
The Team rosters were dated even when the game came out, the constructors that were on top before the game came out weren't the same after it was released. So if you don't mind those little details go ahead I recommend this game, you can find a used copy of this game for cheap.
