More than expected, but I still have no interest in any minigame collection.

They really should add a sort of board game to break up the minigames. Give it a Mario theme, maybe, for a proper party.

I mean, it's hard to know without having played them. 28 seems like it could be enough, but it really depends on how substantial each game is. If there are a couple bangers in there, it might be worth it.

Still crazy that this isn't a pack-in.

I'll add to the "more than I thought" pile. It's still not something I would spend $50 on, though. At least not right now.

It should be a pack in. Even if those games are pretty good, I'm not paying 50 bucks for a mini game collection.

It's not the number of games that matters. It's the fact that they're minigames. There's no substance. It's like asking $50 for 28 plain hot dogs. I'd much sooner spend that on a steak.

28 is a nice number, but it is not the kind of games that could move units.

Add me to the people surprised this is not packed in. It looks like the kind of game that exists solely for the propuse of convincing people of the value of the new gimmick.

@hermes: I have read one theory that might explain why it's not a pack-in. For the Wii and Wii U, their pack-in games made use of what was THE main gimmick of the console (wagglin' and the tablet respectively). The main gimmick for the Switch is in the name, the ability to quickly switch between handheld and home console mode, which is not really something that any individual game can 'showcase' all that well. The mini more advanced Wiimotes are a secondary feature.

Yeah, that sounds totally reasonable. I ain't too tempted at purchasing it just yet, but who knows, it might end up being a great collection.

I am going to be honest, that is still too expensive for $60, especially when you've seen what those minigame are like. They should have made this a packed in game but they didn't.

@sammo21: It's not $60.

Anyway, that's about right for the price if the minigames are substantial enough.

this collection feels to me like a multiplayer wario ware game without the charm. I think i get why they made everything look unapealing in the game screen, they want people to face each other instead of looking at the screen and of course to kinda show off how the new features of the motion HD work

Should have been included with the console. I don't know how substantial all the minigames are so I cant comment on the price being justified.

That's definitely a bigger number than I thought it would be. The more important question is how many of those are actually worth playing?

Quantity wise it sounds fine. But quality is and always has been more important to me. Not my kind of thing in any case, but I hope it ends being up fun for the people who are into the idea.

@apdls: $50 is too much.

There, same opinion :) We know what the minigames are...they aren't in depth or substantial.

28 is a meaningless number. If it's 28 great minigames, the price is justified. If it's 28 minigames similar to what they've shown, then nope. The quickdraw thing is the only thing they've shown that rises above the, "Hey, this is novel," kind of game.

That is at least three times more than I expected, but it's really about the quality of the games that makes or breaks this thing.

Well for the price that definitely seems more reasonable. As far as mini game collections go that seems like it has a lot of content. Personally I don't really have an interest in this style of thing, so I still won't be buying it.

That is about double what I thought they'd have. I wonder how many of them are actually interesting.

But personally I won't be buying this (unless there is some super-awesome surprise reason to do so). Bundle it with two Joycon and we'll talk.

Based on what I've seen, its quantity over quality. None of the games actually look fun to me. I'm still holding out hope this will be used as research to help make a new Wario Ware.

How many of those mini games are actually replayable? I'd like to try to fake eat a sandwich once, but then I'll just go back to eating real sandwiches. This should have been a pack in game...

Would be enough for a great pack in game. At $50 (probably $65 in canada) it's ridiculous.

They could put 300 minigames in there and I still wouldn't want to pay 50 bucks for it.

I just don't want to pay that much for something I'd probably at best play for 2-3 hours total.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask though, as I'm not sure there is a price I would be willing to pay for it.

Pretty crazy that people are excited for this system when there is really nothing besides zelda until the fall when the switch gets an actual brand new game.

That sounds like a healthy amount, but unless most of them are fantastic (and most of them look like goofy gimmicks) I'm not picking up for anything other than like...$20. I'll take Wii Sports HD Collection before this.

If i had to market a minigame collection, i would want to show at least 1 of the best games in the package upfront.

If i look at the milking, the table tennis, the cowboy duel and the fake eating minigames, none of those strike me as high quality minigames.

Still more games than i expected, so that's nice. But unless marketing failed, i don't think we'll see more substantial games out of this.

If it has a mode where it mixes up the games in a rapid fire way it could be fun. But just getting to choose from 28 simple mini-games? No. Just no.

No, and I doubt the games that are in it are worth that price. The game regardless should have been packed with the console as something that you might try. This seems like a game that players will play a few minutes of in each mode and then move on, so no.

If they just had a library of 100 minigames and would switch em up Wario Ware style, i think this would be an awesome product. Standing face to face with your friend and having to adjust to whatever minigame appears would be pretty hilarious.

Have no interest in this, but 28 mini games is way more than expected, so it helps justify the price. Can we all agree that the one thing we can look forward to for this game's release is the game's quick look? Should be reminiscent of the very best of those Kinect QL's.

28 Wii Bowling/Tennis level minigames? Sure.

28 milking caliber minigames? Not for me, thanks. You'd need a hundred and set it up Wario Ware, rapid-fire style to get me on board if they're that shallow.

I hope I'm proven wrong about this, but it seems like Nintendo has managed to make the Switch's gimmicky control schemes and launch mini-game pack much more one-note than Wii Sports was; more akin to Nintendoland in terms of, at least, appearing very shallow from first impressions. If that's the case, even 100 mini-games would not make 1-2-Switch a worthwhile purchase. We'll see.

@sammo21:Oh I'm not even disagreeing, just stating that for the record. Although we don't know for sure yet, I'm being cautious on this one and waiting for reviews.

@cheetoman: Okay, now this I do strongly disagree with. The first few months of this system have Zelda, Snipperclips, Mario Kart, Arms, and Splatoon. That's quite an impressive first party lineup for the system's first few months. When you compare it to other contemporary systems, I feel a lot better about this one than any system since the Wii at least.
