There have been postings lately that are a result of this issue, but this topic is just for this generally recurring issue.

When a video goes live, it is immediately added to the RSS feeds even though it is incomplete. An example of this is today's This is the Run 16. Below is what was immediately added to the feeds. Sorry for the formatting, but I'm not sure how to do this in the WYSIWYG.

<title>This Is the Run: Part 16</title>

<description>There are no more runs because THIS IS THE RUN. It will be. I demand that THIS IS THE RUN.</description>

<itunes:subtitle>There are no more runs because THIS IS THE RUN. It will be. I demand that THIS IS THE RUN.</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:duration>00:00:00</itunes:duration>

<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit>

</item>

It was later corrected when the download was available.

It doesn't make sense to add it until the download is available.

this happened to me for mario maker stream. I loaded my rss reader whilst the show was live and got the broken link. then when download was actually live my reader didnt show it as new because it already had the article.

Please don't put rss items in a download feed until the download link is in it, thanks :)

This is especially bad for shows like PAX East 2019, which is actually broken for streaming too, but the feed item wouldn't be broken for so long (or at all) if it was only added when the download was ready.

Sorry, which video are you referring to? As far as I'm aware we only streamed the PAX East from the Twitch embed in chat; it shouldn't have hit our RSS feeds at all yet.

Hey, it looks like this is actually another error entirely - we threw up the chatroom for the two PAX livestreams over the weekend and somehow the system thought it was our own video and tried to publish an archive of it. Not sure how that happened but I'll let the engineers know.

@rorie Sorry, I didn't know you guys weren't already aware of the broken video on the site or I would have created a separate bug report. I assumed since it had been several days there would have been a report. I saw all the comments on the video complaining, but I guess none of them posted here.

No worries, it was a very odd bug that I've personally never seen before. The "video" ONLY showed up in the RSS feed, not on the homepage or Latest Videos page, so I was pretty confused as to what was going on. I'm not sure it's possible to remove that entry from the RSS feed (not super up to date on how RSS works), but we'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

@rorie It's actually gone from the feed, so someone removed it. It was on the Latest Videos page when I initially posted about it yesterday, which is where I saw the comments I mentioned, but looks like that's gone too.
