Alternate Soundtracks for Burnout - Suggestions Welcome!

Since Spotify is easily available on pretty much any platform you can play Burnout Paradise, I've put together my own playlist for cruising around. I've put the most important two songs from the original soundtrack at the top, but the rest is just other stuff that I think goes well with fast driving. Let me know what you think, and go ahead and add suggestions if you like!

And if none of these songs are your thing, make your own playlist and share it, I'd love to see what people come up with!

Here's some music I think fits Burnout. I'm still adding to it. And look I know Total Eclipse of the Heart feels like a weird one but trust me, it fucking works

I’d imagine a Burnout playlist to be fast, short, straightforward songs...

I think a lot of Motorhead or AC/DC would work. Some old Andrew WK stuff would fit the fun asthetic, I think. The Bronx is a great band who would fit, as might some Mariachi El Bronx.

A lot of The Clash’s songs would fit. Maybe some Dead Cross songs could spice things up.

Man Man would be a bit much, but maybe their song Pink Wonton?

The New York Dolls or The Stooges...Personality Crisis, Human Being, and TV Eye would all be good fits.

I'd probably just throw a bunch of metalcore and/or djent songs on there. August Burns Red, Protest the Hero, Periphery, that sort of thing.

Alternatively, some melodic death metal. Old In Flames, At the Gates, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Black Dahlia Murder, and so on.

JP has been making so amazing music since as well.

Yeah, I've been quietly following his work in the background, between Rabbit Junk, Ovter God, and the spiritual successor in The Named. I'm just a little surprised to see a mention of their Ministry cover (or a mention of the band in general) on this site. One of those things where the dorky heavy music loving sphere of my world rarely crosses with the video game loving side.

As for soundtrack recommendations? For a bit I actually found the cheeseball goth-rock of Finnish band Poisonblack to be a solid soundtrack to most racing games. They eventually even did a 'hard driving car' album in Drive, which alongside Rust And Bones, Dead Heavy Day and their last album Lyijy were pretty much just constantly being put on shuffle playlists and made into my racing game background noise.

This thread died quick, but I threw my own together and figured I'd share. For me, Paradise's soundtrack was always about short, high-energy tracks so I largely went for that, using era-appropriate stuff (basically, cheesy 2000s era pop-punk), but worked in some newer stuff as well. Most of it isn't stuff I'd listen to on my own, but I think it suits the game really well. Let me know what you think!
