That is something I noticed too. It felt right to see your legs in Mirrors Edge.
Can I have my legs please?
I'm pretty sure that you could not see your legs in Halo 1.
But anyways, it's usually just seen as more taxation on the hardware, and is just not put in games.
Yeah, I guess games that implement jump-type puzzles (Half-Life comes to mind) or games where jumping is significant might benefit by showing legs. However, it is a shooting game; I'm not going to gaze at my shoes when I'm getting shot at, so I can see why this feature has been mostly ignored.
"I would like to see them strictly so I could do some trickier jumps with trial-and-error gameplay."Either this is sarcasm or the game you're looking for is here.
This doesn't usually bug me, but I didn't get why they didn't have legs in Far Cry 2. So much of that game was focused on realism and then, no feet. Even worse, early in the game there are sequences, like when you're in the bed in the Jackal's hotel, where you can see your body.
"In most first person games, seeing your feet serves no purpose"
So what, lol?
But in say Halo, it helps you to coordinate your jumps and whatnot as it really does allow for much acrobatics. Those platformer forge things would suck if not.
