do you ever have videogame dreams?
i dont mean the type of dreams where you imagine you are a videogame character, but the kind where it feels like you're actually playing a game. it seems to happen to me if i play games for a rediculously long period of time in a day, like 9 to 10 hours. it happened to me originally with links awakening, then again with baldurs gate 2, and more recently with dragon age and mass effect 2. bioware seems to have that effect on me it seems. anyway if you do in fact have those dreams please share what games have done it.
Often. I even dreamed I was in a game which was a combo of Alien Abduction meets Breakdown. All in first person with me seeing my hand going out to grab weapons and push buttons. So weird and I still remember all of it.
This happens to me heaps, normally due to marathon game sessions, and playing past the point of being tired.
Sometimes they are very directly influenced from a particular game, like Dragon Age caused very specific dreams about that game. Sometimes its an acumulation of games... ive dreamt about crazy fantasy battles going on, then hiding out in a cabin hiding from vampires, followed by some crazy team death match shooting thing my brain has made up.
Dead Space plain gave me nightmares. Cool nightmares, but fucking scary shit.
" I did in the past, not anymore. I was always in some horror game. I always end up being chased by aliens, zombies or monsters; trip and then get killed. That's when I wake up -_- "
Almost same here. Except i woke up before they could finish me.
I know Jeff has when he had to review Ocarina of Time. :)
As for myself sometimes it does happen. It's unusual though as I dream about games that have not come out yet. I seriously dreamt up Super Mario Galaxy before any details were shown. Freaked me out a little bit that one E3...
when i woke up today i awoke from a dream where i was with niko belic and we where being chased by a group of dudes (if i remember right it appeared to be 6) on foot, and we had jumped a fence and got to a dead end of an ally way.
the dudes jumped over and started charging at us, we just looked at each other and then turned to the dudes and got ready to fight, and then I woke up.
all the time. Like i had this one dream this time when duke nukem forever came out and the game was awesome. I also ahd another dream where pokemon where crazy animal things instead of pussy little cute things and they were eating each other after they beat one in a battle and it was fucking awesome cause they were playing seek and destroy in the background and a pikachu was eatting a charmander. That was an awesome dream.
I have had those types of dreams before. I remember "playing" tetris quite a bit, and a few fps ones here and there.
Recently though, I've had a few dreams in which I've been developing games. I sketched out the first one, but I couldn't remember enough of the other two.
I had a dream a few nights ago where I was in some sort of crossover of Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto.
there isnt enough dream-room for video games.. my dreamworld is filled with semi-nightmares which consist of a collection of the events of the day that kept me depressed, disgusted and uneasy.
Suprisingly no, games aren't realistic enough for me graphically yet to dream about them. Once way before I had a dream I was playing crysis yet I was there instead of controlling the game, that was the only time, graphics was good in the dream, it was like using nvidia 3d vision glasses or something.
When i was young Resident Evil gave me some unpleasant nightmares
Crash Bandicoot and Command and Conquer also gave me nightmares since i was on them for like 12 hours straight LOL
I remember when I first got Rome: Total War. I played that damn game all night. Every night. For over a month. My mom wakes me up one morning while I was dreaming. I could literally see skirmishers running for their lives, kicking up that crappy looking dust just like in the game. It's like they were there, in my room, and they sort of faded away as I woke up. I must have had a strange look on my face, because mom asked me "are you ok?". I say simply, "no," so she asks me, "Well whats wrong".
And I tell her, "My unit is scattered!" She looks at me in sympathy, walks out and closes the door before bursting into laughter. It's one of my favorite stories.
yes, once when i was a teenager. me and my friend were playing tony hawk pro skater 4. my friend was a little bit farther then me. he knew how to do all of those manual tricks like casper, pogo, ect. he showed me but wouldn't tell me. i had a dream that i did it press buttons. i woke up and it worked.
Only every now and then. Usually after a really long gaming session or the days before a very highly anticipated release(I had a few dreams the week before Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 released).
