Do you have any single, ONE, favorite game of all time? (Gaming Question of the Day 9-24-10)

Mass Effect 2. Those of you who think you know of a game that is better are only deceiving yourselves.

There's no way in my mind that I could possibly pick just ONE game, but when I was trying to narrow it down I came up with Chrono Cross, Super Mario World, Persona 3 and TF2. And even though it's fun to try to single out one's personal best game, I think that it's sort of unnatural since people generally can't focus that much on a single game as to exclude others.

Majora's Mask is the greatest game ever created.

Impossible to choose, I love so many different games for alot of reasons.

Not really. But the first Suikoden or X-COM ranks pretty high up there. But as long as we get games like Mass Effect 2 and Batman Arkham Asylum recently I find it hard to make any game my favorite until I'm dead. XD
Best game ever is still Tetris tho. But not because it's my favorite of all time, it's just a truly timeless game and a true classic. ;D

No I have several. I'm not the kind of person who can do order things by favorite. I loved them all for there own reasons.

Wel the closest to my favorite of all time would be Bionic Commando for the NES back in 1988. :p

it may not be the best ever, but this game always has a place in my heart.

No. I can narrow it down to a handful, but when I have to decide between Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and Fallout 3, God Hand and Half-Life 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past... the hairs are just too thin to split. What game I pick would depend pretty much completely on minutia like what time of the day it is, what mood I'm in, what kind of game I'm in the process of playing et cetera.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time... Or a Link to the Past, both always get me excited no matter how many times i play them.

CIVILIZATION 5

 I said yes, and it's kind of depressing because my number just kind of defaults to being the top pick. 
 
I couldn't tell you how many hours I've sunk in to Rainbow Six Vegas 2, but I can tell you that after TWICE having odd save game fuck-ups wipe out my rank, I'm currently working on becoming the highest rank for the second time. By way of singleplayer. 
 
While there have been heaps of 'realistic' shooters out there, the likes of Call of Duty and the upcoming Medal of Honor, for some reason the actual tactical shooter market has all but dried up. The SWAT franchise hasn't been touched for a good long while. I think Vegas 3 has been talked about but not announced.  
 
Meanwhile, Vegas 2 has a vast array of things I take issue with. I don't like the terrorists have to spawn into the world during Terrorist Hunt. I don't like the way Ubisoft handled the way the player aims down iron sights on some guns. The weapon selection was a little thin. But it feels my needs. I want to throw some damn flashbangs. I want headshots to be lethal all the time. I want to put a rifle scope on a MAC-11 sometimes just for the hell of it. 
 
I'd much rather get a good SWAT game. SWAT 3 is, in fact, number two on my list. But Vegas 2 has more advanced features and is on a modern console, so it will do.

I voted no but The Settlers would probably be my answer if someone held a dick to my head. Either that or Bad Mojo. Or Diablo 2. 

I gotta go with Ocarina of Time. It's just such a masterpiece.
 
For the record, I hate when people ask me what my favorite game is. Whenever I tell someone I want to make video games, they always inevitably ask that, and it's just annoying.
