I've read around that there have been other Firefox users having trouble playing videos under the new format. Is this only happening to those with add-ons installed? Anyone else having this problem?
Firefox users having trouble with video
" @Sir_Subtle: I had this problem on FF3.6. It was related to the Adblock plugin. I solved it by disabling the plugin on Giantbomb.com (it's an option in the Adblock menu). "That worked perfectly; thanks for the assist guys.
No problem for me, but if any of you wanna download the video off the player, you'll have to switch it to progressive mode
" I had to turn off Adblock Plus to watch videos on here. "Yeah. It says something like "We see you have an Ad Block on. Please turn it off to view videos." Which.... makes me kind of sad.
" @JJOR64 said:True, but now I can click their ads and give Giant Bomb $93475893475895 per click." I had to turn off Adblock Plus to watch videos on here. "Yeah. It says something like "We see you have an Ad Block on. Please turn it off to view videos." Which.... makes me kind of sad. "
" @DoctorTran said:True... but I also like having a choice between seeing and not seeing page cluttering ads." @JJOR64 said:True, but now I can click their ads and give Giant Bomb $93475893475895 per click. " Works fine with me. I even have adblock on. >_> "Very strange.
this is a problem i can confirm. the new video formats are being interfered with by adblock. please fix this giant bomb.
this needs to be fixed asap because adblock is difficult to change single site filters and i dont feel like turning it on and off every time a visit this site!
i had to google it to figure it out but heres a fix for the adblock problem
open the adblock menu by going to TOOLS up top and then to the adblock menu from there hit the add filter but at the bottom of the window. then enter "@@http://www.giantbomb.com" press enter and then the apply button on the bottom. and giant bomb is now exempt from the block list and the vids will play. unfortunately all of the adds on the site will be visible. wich defeats the purpose of even having the add-on. i dont get why they changed the players for the vids the flash one was just fine. i simply dont want to see all the damned adds. and if they start putting adds to the vids im leaving. thats why i came to this site to begin with.
also if anyone from giant bomb reads this the new video format covers the rollover bubble menus at the top of the screen.
