Looks really great, and it's a sure thing for me. I've just come off of TRINE, and I'm in the mood for more awesome 2D/3D sidescroller action. This looks like it'll be well worth the 1500 points.
Shadow Complex looks like a cool game. Sucks that I probably won't get to play it, as Epic seem to have moved over to mostly making games for the 360. I want a PC version, damnit.
Nothing wrong with UT2k3 and Epic didn't make Unreal 2. Yeah, they released UT2k4 which included everything UT2k3 had but they offered 2k4 at a reduced price for 2k3 owners. Actually I'll argue the direction they went with 2k4 ruined it for me. UT was never about the vehicles for me. Assault was nice but bombing run were where the action was.
I'll give you UT3. You should have added Gears 2 multiplayer on that list though.

DOESN'T MATTER, this game is made by Chair Entertainment, not Epic.
Wasn't too excited till I saw this game being played on game night over at 1up.com. All I have to say is that I'm more excited for this game than anything else this year.
I'm not sure why, but I keep forgetting the title of this game. To me, it's just the awesome Metroid Castlevaniaish game that I must buy. Shadow Complex. Shadow Complex. Think I got it...
The more I've heard about this game the more excited I've become. I like game where there's always lots to do so Shadow Complex seems to be my kind of game.
I have to say that the "Endless Achievements" bit is the most interesting to moi...I could definitely get sucked into that if people on my Friend's List play the game.
It has indeed out-Metroided Metroid. As fun as Other M may or may not turn out to be, I don't know of any Metroid fans that were clamoring for a linear, mission-based game starring Samus, featuring of distinct and seperate brawler segments, platforming segments, and first-person shooter segments. All I ever hear in the comments of a Metroid-related news item is how awesome it would be for Nintendo to get off their butts and do a modern 2D Metroid. Scratch that freakin' itch. A lot like what Shadow Complex is doing. It's about time!
Challenge mode? Man, I fucking HATE challenge mode. The Bionic Commando: Rearmed had some that were pretty much near impossible. I spent 2-3 hours just trying to complete one of the harder challenge modes on BCR & even with look at someone doing it on Youtube, it was still just too fucking hard. I hope they don't tie any achievements on the challenge mode, otherwise a lot of people are going to hate it.
I already read complaints about games like BCR & N+ when they throw in a challenge that doesn't offer multiple ways to get through it. People saying "Fuck this game." is common.
I took the week this comes out off of work. I'll spend Monday and Tuesday cleaning up the house and Wednesday through Friday exploring the Shadow Complex. Now, watch it get delayed at the last minute or have gameplay bugs that make it unplayable....
How is it Brad that you are always the one doing articles about the games I am interested in? Shadow Complex looks like a lot of fun. I dont remember seeing examples of weapon-based melee attacks. Are there any?
The 3D parts kinda surprised me but I think they look great great; I also liked when the "Make 'em scream" achievement counter popped up. That sorta stuff just makes games more fun. Looks like another awesome sidescroller from Chair.
