Post your ideas for games. The ones you'll never end up pitching anyway, even if publishers accepted unsolicited game ideas.

  • A PREDATOR game that works more or less like a souped-up version of Arkham Asylum's "stalk and knock out bad guys" mechanic
  • A kinect game where you have to interrogate a prisoner and get information out of him (controversy is good publicity)
  • A GODZILLA kinect game where you are stomping through a city.

Two of those are decent ideas, but I wouldn't wanna play a Predator game that didn't seriously differentiate itself from the Batman gameplay. I get my Batman every couple of years, and that's about how often I want it. Also, that Godzilla game would be pretty fun, but I'm not sure there'd be a TON of appeal for adults there.

The interrogation idea is a bad idea. Kinect is the family-friendly platform for Xbox, and controversy does not help them at all.

Building off that Godzilla idea, might as well remake Rampage for Kinect.

It's a pity they can't make any good Predator games. I mean, it's such an awesome concept and easy setup that it's even more disappointing it never works.

Yeah! I'd miss the signature Godzilla roar sound, though.

Couple more:

  • Zombie game that focuses more on boarding up/fortifying a location in time (as opposed to wading out among a crowd and shooting)
  • Remake of Zombie Nation for the Kinect that uses your own head

  • An "Infinite Blade" type game for the kinect.
  • A deserted island survival/adventure game ala Robinson Crusoe.

A few ideas; the last one is a bit boring though :(

  1. An RPG set in a Tolkien inspired fantasy setting.
  2. An FPS where you play as a soldier in a modern setting.
  3. A strategy game where you play as a gang of rebel pistachio nuts; you must kill and eat members of three other rival gangs in order to survive - The Cashews, The Peanuts and The Bollywood Dancers.

I'd love to play a game like this. Lost in Blue did this for the DS but that game in particular didn't look like much fun. Maybe I'll check it out and report back. Done right this could be a great concept.

Killzone's multiplayer mode Warzone is fucking perfect. For those unfamiliar:

Rather than breaking each different way to play out as a separate mode, everything is mushed together and presented on the fly. So the game may start with an assassination mission, where one team is trying to kill one specific player on the opposing team. At the end of that, there are a few seconds of downtime, and then the game launches into the next mission type. Sometimes you'll get something simple, like five minutes of team deathmatch. Sometimes you'll have to attack or defend positions, play one-flag capture-the-flag, take control points, and so on. At the end of each phase, the winning team gets one point. At the end of the match, the team with the most points wins. It's a clever way to keep things fluid and prevent the player base from breaking down and rallying around one or two types at the expense of the others. Though if you find yourself wanting something specific, the server launching menus give you a great deal of control over which missions appear, which weapons are allowed, and so on.

As far as I know, only Uncharted 3 has "stolen" this mode. I wish more would.

How about this? An escort mission type game, but...wait for it...you are the one being escorted. You have no weapons or special powers, but if you play it right the AI will keep you safe and keep you progressing through the game. Just hide when they tell you to, run when they tell you to...I'm kind of picturing like the Ashley part of RE4, but really fleshed out. That was one of the most intense parts of any game I've ever played, and if a developer could find a way to have you feel that way for a full game, I think they would have a recipe for success.

Fortnite looks like the zombie game you described.

@vonFlampanker: Just thought I would throw this on here: Stranded 2.

It is kinda fun, for a while.

I want an Elder Scrolls style RPG with some Fable mixed in. The property and marriage part to be precise. But the twist is that aging is in effect. Your character will age and die, and so will everyone else in the world. The only way to keep on playing will be to have kids. So I guess it got parts of The Sims mixed in as well.

The ultimate goal could be to have your bloodline become the ruling family of the kingdom. To succeed you could win the hearts of the people by doing heroic deeds, you could amass so much wealth that not making you king would be stupid or you could sneakily kill of important people, ending their bloodlines forever. Hell, put some building mechanics in there as well, making it more like The Guild.

Guess I just want a game made out of other games mashed together, but mashing things together is an idea too!

So to recap; a mix of The Elder Scrolls, Fable, The Sims and The Guild.

A first-person fantasy competitive multiplayer game. Think of something like Call of Duty or Battlefield or even TF2, except with swords, shields, maces, bows, magic, etc. instead of guns.

If it takes the scary route like the Ashley part did I'd probably never get through it. That feeling of powerlessness nearly made me miss the rest of RE4. It sure did with Amnesia. Way too intense.

How about appying this concept to a war game where you're a journalist following a squad? The soldier/civilian outsider dynamic was interesting to see in Generation Kill. I'll bet the right game team could pull that off.

@Durandir: I'd play that sort of long-term goal-based RPG if it were done right. It sounds like the sort of thing that they'll use to sell newer consoles' processing power now that it's getting harder for graphics to look impressive.

I always wanted there to be room for a super-realistic persistent world MMO where there was no fast travel and distances took actual effort to cross, if you made it at all. (then your quest becomes "find out what happened to the guy who was supposed to meet me") Sometihng like Skyrim is big but you can get from one end of the world to another in a relatively short time. I'd love to see new systems open up options like this for us.

Oh man. Words cannot... eff it.

To be honest, what Spore was originally concepted and prototyped to be was very much my dream game. Having a sandbox universe to learn about, grow into, and explore, and all while being dynamically generated.

Now mix THAT with Wizardry 8 style combat.

Isn't that kinda like what Fornite is going to be?

@Durandir: The bloodline is a pretty neat idea, but I wonder how long that would stay fun. You'd need to have a decent amount of time to build a character that you like, but will have to start over again with one of your children when you (inevitably) die. That could become tedious when you have to start a character build for the third time with one of your grandchildren. But the core idea is very cool.

@ll_Exile_ll That game's now officially on my radar. I'd missed it somehow but will be interested to see Epic's take on the genre.
