Gothic 3, even though it is a PC game. It sometimes took me 3-5minutes to load a game.
game with the longest loading times?
Ugh, some of the elevator waits in Mass Effect were brutal and Oblivion was often tediously long, but from my recollection KOTOR on the original Xbox was the worst. It had some really long-ass load times.
- Far Cry 2
- Forza Motorsport 3
- Juiced Eliminator
Three games I can think of right now that had terrible loading times. Far Cry 2 takes at least two minutes to load from the menu into the game on the Xbox 360, Forza Motorsport 3 takes quite a while to load races, and Juiced: Eliminator on the PSP was one of the longest loading games I've ever played. It really did take about 90 seconds to load a similar length race. And it wasn't even an entertaining race, because all you had to do was get your team in cars with exclusive parts and watch as you win everything.
Forza 3 has some pretty bad load times. Wanna race?! Press A, goto the bathroom, go watch a movie, file your taxes, detail your car, come back and it should be about ready. Seriously though, even with the game installed, it still takes about 20+ seconds.
Easily the worst is the first MotorStorm for PS3.
There is a 5 - 10 second load in between cars on the vehicle select screen. And that is just the beginning. Give it a try, you will see what I mean.
Mass Effect 2 not on the HDD (360) is pretty fucking brutal - we're talking 5-10 seconds every time you change areas or load up a save.
Might not seem all that long, but for a game that came out THIS year it seems absurd to me, waaaaay worse than any elevator from ME1.

Yes, the main room in the Normandy is the worst, which ironically is the place you load the most. That was my only gripe about Mass Effect 2 - the horrible loading times.
Most of the previous Smackdown games took forever to load anything, especially on the PSP. Horrible load times.
" Ugh, some of the elevator waits in Mass Effect were brutal and Oblivion was often tediously long, but from my recollection KOTOR on the original Xbox was the worst. It had some really long-ass load times. "I would say that KOTOR was not near as bad as Oblivion or Mass Effect. I still play KOTOR quite regularly so I'm familiar with it and both load times with the other two are worse in my opinion.
I'd say the original Resident Evil probably gets that. Honorable mentions go out to Persona, since it loaded constantly but not for too long.
MGS4 was bad, Heavy Rain's were definintely annoying, but what I hated the most was Morrowind after you get a good chunk of items and do lots of stuff. That game takes so long to load the longer you play the game and the more items you get, not only the loading times get bad the time it takes to save the game was atrocious.
Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis on the amiga.... took foreeeeeever
but Tomb Raider :Angel of darkness took agessssssssss between levels and when you died (very, very often) you would have to sit through the whole loading time again.
" It's a PC title, but the loading was extremely slow with any kind of hardware - The Witcher (before the enhanced edition and the patches). "It actually increased with the number of Savegames I think.
I was quicksaving all the time and had to delete all the savegames I didn't need every now and then...
You guy's are all too young. You need to go back to when games came on casette tapes to find the longest load times.
I remember the Sam Coupé tape version of Defenders of the Earth took about 50 minutes to load (If you were lucky it didn't crash during loading)!
lego island 2 had teribble load times pc or not!It once took so long I went to my kitchen, cut up 3 bannanahs and went to the computer room with them...of course still loading
Rocket Power: Team Rocket Rescue literally had to load the loading screen.
@Porcelain_Snake: I would say there are some PC games that took forever on any PCs of that time so I think some games might still be fair game.

The Last Remnant on Xbox 360. Really long load times and it lagged constantly during battles.
Ugh, that was the first game to really convince me I needed to install my games.

360 version of Skyrim has some long ass loads.
haha That's like 90% of the reason I stopped playing.

Morrowind for Xbox. Done.
That motherfucker is certainly up there, and I still managed to put around 800 hours into it.
In ye goode olde days, C64 tapes would make you wait your fucking turn to play a game.
I know you said no PC titles, but STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky both have TERRIBLE loading times no matter what hardware you got. Even with the latest of PC hardware that loading screen would take you a good ten minutes to load. So I think this qualifies. :PIt takes like 15 seconds for me on both.
