The Whispered World. I loved this. Technically another 2009 game though (but it was released outside of Germany this year). Jolly Rover. Good, but it did seem to be very intentionally derivative of the Monkey Island series. Amnesia. Perhaps not what you're looking for, but you should play it anyway :o
@mylifeforAiur: I'm currently playing a game called "Grey Matter," it's an adventure game made by the designers of "Gabriel Knight." Both this and Gabriel Knight are definitely worth playing if you like adventure games.

Hmm. I'm not sure how significant Toy Soldiers, Limbo, Red Steel 2, Mafia II, Shank and Metroid Other M are... Moreso the first 3 than the last 3. Or it could just be because i'm in Australia and we get jack all for games...
Case Zero being on that list works i think, as it's pretty much the game that started this whole new...'Pre-LC' insanity that everyone else seems to be catching onto.
Can I ask, is it only releases of 2010 that can count?
If not then I nomiate Gears of War 2 purely for all the crazy XP times events that Epic have been running which have kept me coming back to that game several times this year to play with buddies. Good times.
By the time I get up in the morning (it's 23:48 in London right now) this game could well be on my door mat, it got rave reviews from both sides of the pond with scores or 9.5 and 10/10 from some magazines so there's absolutely no way you could miss out Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
I have to put in a vote for Monster Hunter Tri as well, it sold 745 thousand copies during launch week and 1.4 million copies in its first 10 weeks.
