So now everyone knows the angry but most loved Kratos will be in the new Mortal Kombat reboot. Well GameInformer just said that Bleszinski tweeted about putting a Gears of War character, mainly Clay Carmine, into the 360 version of Mortal Kombat to match Kratos. How is that possible? I can't see this dude jump kicking someone. He uses guns so it'd be interesting to see how they put him into the game. Here's the full article.

What do you think of putting Carmine up in the MK roster?
Gears of War character may be in MK.
" @extremeradical said:Haha, his fatality is trying to chainsaw his enemy but gets stomped by a huge Locust. :P" A to run, B to punch, RT to shoot, back back X to teleport punch.LT to die in a horrible way. "
Yupp, putting a Carmine would be the stupidest thing ever. Bleszinski should just keep his mouth closed because this wouldn't work.
I actually would find a Gears character an enjoyable addition to the roster, and Carmine is probably the most colorful member of the GoW roster.
Buy the game? What, you think I'm a sap?
Nah, fighting games are just not my cup of tea, though if I played at a friend's house I think stripping the GoW character of his guns would make him really sweet. He could also have a Lancer with no ammo. Carmine's the only one who'd forget to load up before heading into battle.
I don't see why this would be such a terrible idea. Kratos isn't in the game canonically (unlike the lame ass Soul Caliber cross-overs) so...who cares? I think a Cog could work, specifically cause they've already got Stryker, who also uses guns, so it's not like it'd be completely unheard of.
" Some shithead from Namco is helming this game, that's the only way to explain this sort of hackwork. "You mean Midway...
"You mean the other GOW? God of War's Kratos. "
He's not talking about that. Did you even read the OP, or am I misunderstanding what you meant?
" @ryanwho said:I think he is referring to Namcos previous history of putting in others companys icons in their fighting games. Darth Vader, Yoda, Link, Spawn etc..." Some shithead from Namco is helming this game, that's the only way to explain this sort of hackwork. "You mean Midway... "
" @sofacitysweetheart said:And I am referring to Midway being a company founded on hack ideas. They threw so much shit at the wall it wasn't funny. Now there are guys like Jeff who are hyped for these reboots because we've entered this phase of nostalgia, conveniently ignoring the fact that the vast majority were painfully bad and/or super dumb." @ryanwho said:I think he is referring to Namcos previous history of putting in others companys icons in their fighting games. @mazik765: How stupid will it look to see a Gears character doing kung fu or some shit? Very stupid. Like what I just told Undeadpool.
Just hearing these kinds of things already gives me some unwanted distaste for this MK reboot. Hope to god this does not go forward, in favour of at least a more appropriate cameo if they must have a 360 exclusive character.
Carmine seems attracted to dying horrible deaths so that fits in.
Considering his penchant for gunplay though, there's a chance he could play sort of like Jax in MK:Deadly Alliance, who used a semi automatic gun. Not as useful as you'd imagine it to be. And of course, give anyone a lancer and they can handle themselves pretty well in one-on-one. I think it could work. Remember, Master Chief and the Spartans weren't known for their close range capabilities in Halo, but Nicole in Dead or Alive was a quite a bruiser if you got the hang of her. Any soldier could work in a one-on-one game if done well. I could see Carmine work in MK 360.
Kratos'll still be cooler though :)
I say they just put in Dante (from Dante's Inferno) and just give him all of Kratos' already existing moves.
I don't see how this wouldn't work since MK has had characters with weapons before.
Now the part where it could happen is something else entirely.
If not that, I'd certainly be ok with one of the piñatas, but I'm 99% sure that 360 simply won't get an exclusive character. My thought is that since he's not cluttering up the continuity, there's no harm in it.
" @wh4tshisface: Not taking it as news dude. I'm asking, how do you feel about this dudes "tweet" thing? "Sorry, wasn't referring to your thread as a discussion is perfect for this type of thing. But, I was referring to GI taking to time to write an article based on an off-hand remark by Cliff.
" @SethPhotopoulos: But I doubt Carmine knows any type of fu. You know, like kung-fu or whatever type of other fu there is. "He doesn't have to. Punches and kicks work just fine. He will have a fucked up jump animations but everyone in MK seems to have that (Not a knock against the game).
