1. Twilight PrincessThis is a common misconception. I'm sure many have played The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess without seeing a single octorok, but they have simply not played it to COMPLETION. The optional boss, Bossoctorok, which is accessed after dying successively on each level of the Cave of Ordeals and then immediately warping to the Zora's domain (where defeating this boss will reward the player with the long rumored Ice Arrows), is infact an octorok, if not more-so.
The correct answer is The Legend of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. While octoroks are mentioned early on in the game, they are actually never shown.
2. Triforce of WisdomAgain, a common error. The Triforce of Wisdom (along with Courage and Power) was retconned into the series much later when Nintendo developers decided to add more back story to the Zelda franchise. While this initially angered many dedicated fans of the simplistic story, they quited down once they realized the original gameplay style was to remain untouched.
Anyways, in the first game, the "Triforce" that collected was referred to as just "The Triangle."
3. Majora's MaskAgain, this answer is incorrect. Shigeru Miyamoto himself has gone on record saying, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is not a true Zelda game because Ganon isn't in it at all and Zelda is only there for like 3 seconds" (Reuters 2001).
The true answer, perhaps more difficult to realize because it is almost blatantly obvious, is The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX.
4. Ganon's Tower in the Dark WorldOnce again, the correct answer has been overlooked because it is extremely obvious, and also shown for just a few second in the intro, which many simply skip:
As proven by this screen shot, the Triforce was originally found in the mountains and forests of Hyrule.
5. NayruWrong. It's Zelda. Duh.
" I don't like the "first to answer" format because it just means someone gets lucky and happens to be on the front page when the news story goes up. "
"you sure are full of yourself aren't you? While many have submitted identical and SEEMINGLY correct answers for the contest's questions, they have all underestimated the difficulty of this contest. Verily, these are queries that only a sage of Zelda lore, such as I (as I am affectionitly called the 8th Sage on my Zelda web ring) could correctly answer, not some mere "hardcore" Zelda "fanboy."

Shigeru Miyamoto himself has gone on record saying, "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is not a true Zelda game because Ganon isn't in it at all and Zelda is only there for like 3 seconds" (Reuters 2001).

As proven by this screen shot, the Triforce was originally found in the mountains and forests of Hyrule.
5. NayruWrong. It's Zelda. Duh. "
1. yes you are right about that. 1 point for you.
2. They asked for what part of the Triforce it was not what it was called before they invented the story.
3. you don't get points for being a smart ass.
4. it asked where the Triforce was in the game's story, not where it was originally found.
5. No its Nayru.
So, going by everyone else here, the answers are, or could be, something like
1) The Legend of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon and/or The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
2) The piece of Tri-Force in the original The Legend of Zelda, that Link had to collect, was the Golden Triangle of Wisdom, with the Golden Triangle of Power already having been stolen by Ganon.
3) The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX as well as The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.
4) All three pieces of the Tri-Force are in the intro of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, but then are located in the Sacred Realm, which was turned into the Dark World by Ganon, after he obtained the Tri-Force if you are talking about where they are in the direct time line of the gameplay itself.
5) Nayru was the Oracle of Ages; named after one of the three Golden Goddesses.
Meaning that, several of the questions could, in fact, be trick questions that have more than one answer...
- Twilight Princess
- Triforce of Wisdom
- Majora's Mask
- Sacred Realm
- Nayru
What is the only Zelda game that Octoroks have not appeared in? - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Which piece of the Triforce does Link earn in the original Legend of Zelda?- Triforce of Courage
In what game besides Link’s Awakening did the Ballad of the Windfish appear? - Majora's Mask
At the beginning of A Link to the Past, where are all three pieces of the Triforce? - Golden Land
Who is the Oracle of Ages? - Nayru the singer
Darn. why does the site always get updated while I'm working? Oh well here's my answer.
1. Twilight Princess(because though people have said the wand of Gamelon, I don't consider that a real Zelda game, I consider that a crappy spinoff to make money)
2. Wisdom
3. Majora's mask (talljack, link's awakening DX is just a remake so I don't consider it a real game, more of an alternate version of the game; as it's the same game for another system.
4. The Dark World
5.Naryu
and Milk man I agree with you. Maybe it should be some kind of timed quiz that gives you 60 seconds for each question(multiple choice only) and has 10-20 of them. Also like trivia we should only be able to play once.

Here are my answers to the trivia questions:
1. Ocotoroks are not in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
2. Link earns the Triforce of Courage and must gather all pieces from each dungeon.
3. The Ballad of the Windfish is in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, inside the Milk Bar, in East Clock Town.
4. All three Triforce pieces are in the Sacred Relm inside the pyramid of the Dark World, where Link must defeat Gannon.
5. The Oracle of Ages is Nayru, a.k.a The Goddess of Wisdom
