I am so incredibly mad right now, any ideas how to feel better?
how do you deal with anger?
" Hoovering! Works as treat and gets the place clean. (Seriously!) "haha never thought of that
Time. Honestly the most tried and true way in-the-moment anger goes away is that you naturally have no reason to devote as much mental resources to staying angry so it naturally slips away. Humans are naturally self-correcting like that. Emotional anger is another problem, seek out a good listener and explain your problem.
The other option is play a video game and escape your anger and wait for your body and mind to just naturally not give a shit anymore and you'll be fine. I've tried punching pillows and shit, doesn't work.
I lost my temper when I was 13 and slammed someone into a locker at school.
After getting in loads of trouble, I decided I would never lose my temper again because it is pointless and stupid.
15 years later I have not gotten angry once. All it takes is an open mind.
" @momosauky1 said:Very young users tend to be very sensitive. Also don't know how to control their anger and need a thread to figure it out. :P" @Marcsman said:Wait, seriously? "" GO fuck yourself "flagged, its probably gonna work out alot worse for you than me "
I would say music also. I was super angry over something and got really into punk rock music for a while. I was glad that people at my work were cool with me putting it on too but I think it put the waiting staff off a bit.
Especially violent video games help a bit too. I don't really have any though but I imagine something like condemned would be nice.
Let yourself be angry. What one of the other guys said is true. If you try to bottle it up that will just make it worse. Close the door to your room and throw things around or shout in an empty place. It helps.
Those are the things that help me. But yeah, I've heard exercise helps too. When I used to exercise I liked running on the treadmill when I was angry.
Develop a sense of humor. Don't take everything so seriously. It will do wonders, honest. Let things roll over you and life will be much better.
Since more often than not any anger I feel coming on is directed toward somebody (as opposed to toward myself) I have been trying to see their side of the story and get their input/let them explain. Really if I get angry I try to talk it out and not let either of us walk away until the problem is resolved.
I don't get mad at things very often, and when I do it's usually just video games so I just stop playing and I feel better.
Swear a lot and continue on with your day.
Maybe I just haven't been super angry for a while. I'm sure I would have a better answer for you if I had.
" I don't. I have an unhealthy habit of bottling it up inside. "I actually do that too. It's worked well enough for about 10 years. Although sometimes when I think back to all the shit I've taken, I just get nearly shaking mad. I don't take shit anymore, though (although I've never had to actually hit anyone recently, luckily).
The best way for me to calm myself when I'm raging (like from video games) is to listen to
That song is just so good, it chills me instantly, no matter what. It's really nice when I'm on a losing streak in Black Ops and extremely frustrated, because all that emotion just instantly releases, and I may not improve, but I don't mind losing anymore (usually i do improve, though).
What kind of dubstep? Maybe I can help with that." im listening to dubstep right now its my usual go to for when i am angry "
EDIT: I normally just bottle it up and vent it at my girlfriend if it's little dumb things but if it's major shit I'll just start throwin' punches.
