Oblivion was re-rated an M shortly after its initial release. Don't you remember all the fuss about it? It had more to do with the nude patches for the PC version than say, murdering people in their sleep. I'd say Halo is pretty silly getting an M rating, personally.

Not really. Perfect Dark was brutal at the time. Blood everywhere, there was so much blood on the walls. It was certainly a hell lot more violent than its mediocre prequel-sequel Perfect Dark Zero.
The Halo games are pretty tame. They should have a T rating, it's not like kids aren't getting their hands on them anyways. Shadowrun was also a really weak M rating.
If they toned down the swearing, Black would've easily been a T game, but I like the excessive "fuck"s in that game.

It's the exact opposite in Europe, where violence is evil and sex is pretty much accepted. That's why nobody in the UK is that offended when you say they're a bit "camp".

In our rating system, i'd think giving that an 18 or even a 15 would be a bit much. It's not particularly explicit, from what I remember.

This may not be a weird rating but as a kid I remember renting Clayfighter for the n64 and thinking "Holy fucking choclate jesus, this game is rated T" because back then I thought I was hardcore when I rented T and M games.

LMAO! Now THERE'S a franchise that needs to come back. Clayfighter was awesome!!! I loved that game. God only knows how many hours me and friends lost to it.
On topic though, I don't understand why the ESRB gave Persona 3 an M rating and not a T rating. I mean what the hell you can't even kiss or sleep with your girlfriend in that game.
