New profile box thingy?

Yay, no more awkward bar on the bottom. Was getting in the way and I think it felt to 'dhtml newbie' even though it was pretty technically impressive.

I must say, I liked it better at the bottom. You have to scroll to the top of the page to see it , the XP bar s gone, and the level number displays in some kind of 8-bit NES font. I appreciate the work that went into it, and I applaud the idea of improving, but this is FML. =(

Upon viewing a page or coming onto this site, I like the new location of the box but as noted in this thread - I do not like having always to scroll to the top of the page to view it. I'm sure its no big deal as possibly if it followed the scrolls and maintained that position always, I probably would have bitched about that as well.

God dammit GB, I was actually used to it at the bottom! They going to try every corner and angle until it fits them?? =O

I think the biggest thing I'm going to miss is my large in charge zoomed in visceral reaction to the game.  Dag gum bars carried me all the way to level 15.   Sure I'll still be gaining them, but now I won't see them, at least until I squint.

On second thought, I also find it slightly annoying having to scroll up to click my profile or see my PMs. 

I like it.  It's better then a bar on the bottom.

Awesome discovery: the new profile box plays a lot nicer with my Android phone's browser.

I don't know, I kind of preferred the old one, but I'll get used to it. Maybe. Is there an option, though, to go back to the old bar?

I like it a lot. Good job guys, it's pretty simple and I prefer it much more than the footer (although that was fine, too!)

That bottom bar BROKE searching pages in Firefox.. glad to see it go. Today is a beautiful day

I love the compactness of it, but as many others have said, can we get the option somewhere to let that nicely-sized box follow us down the page? Bonus points if you let the user pick where they want to put it.

Just when I got use to the bar frame on the bottom of the screen.  I liked having instance access to the inbox.

I prefer this, the bar at the bottom just seemed to get in the way ever so slightly that it would be distracting.

I dig. The bottom bar didn't place nice with Opera Mini on my phone.

I like it, sometimes I'll go a while without knowing I had messages because I didn't extend the tab, or my browser loading something would get in the way of the bottom bar.

the new bar is much too small. Please do consider having an option for the old style bar.

I Love it! I wasn't a big fan of the bottom bar.

It looks alot like the PS3 friend/message indicator thing. 

When I get a reply, I can't read it and make the thing dissapear back to zero with this new box on windows internet explorer. I can't even check it as mark as read to make it dissapear anymore. I have to delete the msg or it's there forever.  
 
Edit: wait it went back to zero on it's own when I got a second reply.

I'll get used to it, but liked it the old way.

Very nice.  Much cleaner. Something just didn't feel right about the bar.

I'm in-between. I like the new system for being compact, but I liked the bar for being nearby at all times. I think I prefer this method now though, so it's no big deal. I wonder if this will deal with the glitch that displayed a PM even if you had read all of your messages. Doesn't worry me if it doesn't, though this looks quite nice. It gives back some screen space, at the very least.

This seems a lot more inconvenient then the scrolling bar at the bottom, and I don't really like the look of it. Still, the bar did take up too much space, maybe a middle ground could be found with yet another redesign.

I love it. People who want to have the box follow them around as they scroll can use the following custom CSS (tested in Chrome using Personalized Web Options plugin and Firefox with Stylish plugin):

Man, I had finally got used to the bar being at the bottom. I'm very set in my ways, and for a loooooooong time after the bottom bar was introduced I was still scrolling up to the top of the page in an attempt to access the non-existent profile stuff at the top of the page. And now it has moved again. Now for I'm going to be stuck moving my mouse to the bottom of the page trying to click on non-existent icons there for months. 
 
That's not to say I don't like it, it looks pretty rad, but now I have to learn how to browse giant bomb all over again.
