Portal:Prelude. Hard as fuck.
I'm going to try it out, here is a trailer:
I felt a sense of accomplishment every time I beat a level...but it didn't have the same flow...the same smoothness of the actual game. Some - make that most - of the flings you have to hit just right. There is no margin for error. I don't mean to say that I want it to be stupidly easy, but the amount of brainfuck time vs. actual play was rediculous.
One other quibble - he/they should have fielded real voice actors (the interwebs are useful!) rather than the text-to-speech.
Not to say it wasn't well done, I think I hit all of one glitch, which was actually beneficial to me. Pretty much everything could be redone, which is simply good design.
Prelude is for the masochistic Portal player really.
I'll admit I liked the gravity puzzles and I hope the official Portal 2 has them, somehow. But holy shit please no more of the vaporizing walls...not only were they annoying, gameplay-wise, but every time they activated, my framerate would drop 50%.
"/v/ has confirmed for me that Portal Prelude is dicks. That's basically what I was trying to say with my first post.
All I hear is that it's hard in stupid ways, not in clever ones. IE maneuverability, not puzzling."
"So far im on stage 5 "You downloaded the game and completed four levels in under twenty minutes?
