I was watching the Alien Breed: Impact quick look and thought how much better that game would be with loot drops/ customizable armor RPG elements. I guess it just put me in the mood to play a dungeon crawler kind of game, but I know of few games from the genre. Anyone have any recommendations?

I've played:

  • Diablo 2 and the Lord of Destruction xpac (not in their entirety, but about half or so of the game.)
  • Torchlight
  • Dawn of War 2 (has diablo-esque elements to it, even though it's an RTS mainly.)

....and that's really all that I can think of.

Titan Quest is pretty good; it's like Diablo in 3D, basically, and a pretty long game. And Steam has it for $14.99!

Sacred 2 was decent, though I think Titan Quest was a bit better. Also Dungeon Siege 2.

First of all go ahead and finish Diablo 2 because its pretty much better than any other dungeon crawler our there. Then once you finish that you can try Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege  and Titan's Quest.
There's also a new addition to Relic's Dawn of War 2 so you can burn through that.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. I was meaning to go pick up the new xpac on Steam or something.  I think I might just play D2 first.

It did look kinda generic, and I really didn't like the art style. But, then again, aren't most dungeon crawlers extremely similar? It's kind of a small genre.

(I'll check out these game after I play Deus Ex that I just downloaded on steam. It's only $2.50 right now.)

Titan Quest isn't a bad game, I haven't played much. I got it for really cheap though when it was on sale on steam. Can't think of any others.

I have all the games everyone has mentioned. I guess I like dungeon crawlers a lot more than I realized.

If you do get Titan Quest, make sure you get the fanpatch.  It fixes a bunch of bugs that was left behind in the final patch for Immortal Throne.

I had a lot of fun with Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Never got to play much of the second one but I imagine that to be just as good.

Here's some that I've played
Titan Quest
Sacred 2
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance (Console only)
Darkstone
Dungeon Siege
Champions of Norrath (Console Only)
Fate: The Traitor Soul

But the one I really suggest is Titan Quest.

Titan Quest really isn't that great. It's fun for a couple of hours but quickly fades into a boring grind with none of the appeal Diablo 2 had.
