Man, working my way out of the salt mines again and is suuuuuucks.
the best way to do this is to bet it all on the one the chat is saying sucks, just in case you win (and thus win big)

Oh man, that podcast talk about GB sprites. Must be done.
Rare Davis. For his super he drops an arcade cabinet on someone.
Gerstmann SSJ4
I accidentally typed in one 0 too much and lost all my money.
That happened to me once too!
Didn't let it keep me down in the salt mines, though.

Yeah, this fucker is 8th on the leaderboards now. WTF maaaaaan?
@dochaus: That download...
I think the big problem is that if you are in the "Illuminati", you have access to player stats, which a searchable database of all of the fighters with their wins and losses. So you have people who can throw tens of thousands of dollars in bets that they know the probability of, which ruins the odds of the match.
I don't know how much control Salty has over the character selection and matchups, but this database should be used to pair only players who have even win/loss percentages.

You vastly overestimate the value of those stats. They're nice to have, sure, but this is very unpredictable: there are so many variations of characters and match-ups can have a big effect on the outcome of a match, which is why upsets can be so dangerous and dramatic. If those stats were of so much value, every Illuminati would be rich and that's not the case.

Yeah, exactly like Jeff said on the podcast today even if you have a guy who is undefeated he might have just beaten a bunch of scrub DBZ characters so how he matches up against real oppisition isn't known and thus the data given is sort of irrelevant anyways. So many random factors playing into this.
@takayamasama: I'm so goddamn pissed I didn't bet on him. Like christ a matchup like that only comes around once every 100 matches or so.
@demoskinos: I couldn't believe so many people went against him. He is pretty solid, and I'd never seen that other guy.
Also Grover = one of the few MS paint traps.
And Docock for another upset, I am on the right side of the salt walls today.
I fear this will give me a false sense of security, and I'll piss it all away on the dumbest bet possible.
@fluxwavez: Agreed, that match was intense. I've never seen anything like it
I do agree that we need a giantbomb chatroom to go with this betting, it would be nice to talk to all you fine lords and ladies, and not have to deal with Twitch chat all the time.
(That being said, I agree with the poster a few pages back, and everytime i see someone type "I've made a horrible mistake" I chuckle)
This is nights like this that I am glad I went Illuminati, 'cause I am betting TERRIBLY.
Example: FREAKIN' POWERPUFF GIRLS, WHY DO YOU CONTINUE TO BE MY NEMESIS?!
@itwongo: There isn't, but that blob is a "Take one hit, KO" toon.
The other Blob is insane though.
@takayamasama: Oh, of course -.-
THANK YOU BASED FLOREN
AMEN, BROTHER!

AMEN, BROTHER!
Floren bumped me from $800 to $3k, and freed many slaves in the Salt Mines. Truly he is a righteous and fair god.
THANK YOU BASED FLOREN
Awww yeah.
@toastburner_b: Some of the Ryus in the game are a joke. Shin Ryu is ok, Evil Ryu is not the worst, and a couple of the regular Ryus are ok, and there's probably a couple more decent oddly named ones, but like for instance there's one Ryu that lost to fucking Blanka. Not Chaos Blanka, just regular Blanka.
When am I ever

gonna learn to never bet based on gut feel?
If you can figure out how to master this, i.e. channel that gut instinct and let it take the reigns when it feels natural to do so, you're pretty much halfway there to making a lot of money out of real gambling.
Also, holy shit, did you see how long that Shoma Gorath attack lasted! KAPOW TENTACLES KAPOW TENTACLES KAPOW TENTACLES
And @fluxwavez is now in first place. Congrats, you bastard.
@skelington_: Shoma gorath is fucking real.
Meanwhile I still lose way too much money on unpredictable underdog wins. How much does having more experience help with that?

Heh, thanks.
Well, it's not really possible to predict every possible upset that could potentially happen. But I tend to analyze matchups very closely before I put a bet and I heavily consider the potential for upsets since they can be disastrous or very rewarding.
