Were you banned from Gamespot before coming to Giant Bomb?

I was just wondering how many people were banned from Gamespot or other video games sites before finally settling at Giant Bomb. I've been seeing a ton of new users and some of them seem like they've come from that site. Also, there seems to be a lot of talk about this lately so, here's a poll!

Sorry if this has already been made before.

Also, I meant to ask if you stopped using other sites because you were banned or just because you found Giant Bomb.

My brain was not cooperating with me when I made the poll lol. :P

No, I generally follow the rules of a website and don't do dumb things to get myself banned.

While I never think banning someone for their opinions is a good idea, if you break the rules of a forum i'm not sure they were that relevant in the first place.

No I wasn't.

I was recently banned from commenting on a youtube video because the teenage girl who posted it had no argument against what I posted and it angered her. Even though she was professing toleration of other's opinions :P

I found that funny.

I was banned from Gamespot long before Giant Bomb was even close to being a thing (Jeff still worked there). People went insane with their blogs about how I was wrongfully banned and stuff like that and some contacted me on MSN to get "A comment on what happened" so they could put that in their blogs. A day or two later I made a new user on there and that user is still there. Moderator who banned me also stopped being a mod right after I got banned. Crazy but fun times

Nope. I was a member there for around 5-6 years or so, but was never very active. Much like here...

No. I never really visited Gamespot before I became a member here. I had heard about the whole Kane and Lynch fiasco, but it wasn't until last year that I came across this site.

I've never been banned anywhere... I guess I just don't try hard enough...

Nope, out of my 30,000+ odd posts only got suspended a hand full of times.

No. In recent years I got a few warnings though... I haven't logged in, in a while and I"m not planning on to.

Nope. I was mostly a Kotaku person before GB. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why though.

Never used that forum so no. The who gamespot site seems cluttered to me seeing as im not too familiar with it.

I've gotten plenty of warnings...once for looking at a man too diagonally...but was never banned.

Nope. Was suspended a few times but that's it.

I've never been banned since I'm not a cunt.

I've never acted childish on forums other then messing around with friends on personal website forums.

So, I've never been banned from anything.

I have been a member of Gamespot since 2004, but I'd been reading their articles since the late 90s. While I did make comments on videos I never participated in their forums (cus there has always been a bunch of idiots there).

I don't go to Gamespot much anymore just 'cus I don't really care for a lot of their reviewers and I just lost a lot of faith in their reviews. For me it wasn't about the Kane and Lynch thing, although that was part of it, but I started drifting away to other sites and got into more independent/amateur review stuff on youtube and whatnot. I found Giantbomb around the end of 2009 I think.

I also made really bad blogs there and needed to get away from my really awful reviews I wrote =P

Nope, I left of my own will, thank fuck. It was best decision I ever made regarding the internet gaming community.

Lol i was banned from Gamespot, i posted there once before, but on my second post, i think i asked about some sort of beta code, asking around for it. Guess this is against the rules and got me banned....didnt really care anyway.

I didn't delete my post...Weird.

I got banned a few times on Gamespot. Which is why I did eventually come here permanently. I usually got banned for calling someone an asshole or for reason I never really understood. I moved here after seeing the unique content and the looser moderation on the forums.

I was banned from the last site I was on, but that was just before Giantbomb opened up its doors. So I was still a teenager at that point, now I am grown up a man, devoid of all childish ways.

No, I only posted in their forums to help people or give out information. I didn't let my freak flag fly until Giant Bomb came along.

I was never banned from the gamespot forums. I was a gamespot member for many, many years, but I wasn't much in the forums. Of course, when ma boys left, I left. And here I am on Giant Bomb.

Almost daily. It was pretty easy to delete their cookies and set up a new account. It's just a shitty site where you are not allowed to talk about whether Jade Raymond is hot or not or how many bowel movements is too many. Ridiculous rules.

How could anyone be banned from posting on GameSpot? I'm not trying to be obtuse here, but really, what on earth makes that community so compelling? It looks like a teenage cesspool whenever I end up poking around there.

I stumbled across Giant Bomb several months after Gerstmann got fired, then I magically discovered all of my favorite reviewers came with him! I've been here, and a premium subscriber, ever since. Best site on the Internet when it comes to gaming, no exceptions.

The only reason I ever visited GameSpot years ago was to watch trailers. Otherwise, I avoided it like crabs.

I think if you get banned from one website you should be banned from all websites. It would make the internet a much better place.

Nope, I don't really post anywhere else besides here and clublexus.

I was at once point but they unbanned me due to an error on their end.
