Steam purchases aside (they are all impulse buys) my friend sold me his old PSP when he picked up a Vita, so I immediately went on Amazon and purchased Persona 2 and 3. The Persona series is among my favourites and I have a deep, longing desire to own any release I can.
What was your last gaming related impulse buy?
I'm slowly amassing a collection of Skylanders figures. I wasn't even planning on getting them at first, but one looked cool enough to put on my work desk... and now I've bought the game and 12 of the other figures. Don't know if I'm ashamed or proud of that, heh. But, I do like toys and also video games, so a combination of the two was an inevitable draw for me.
I was on craigslist looking for motorcycle related stuff for my bike if I was lucky. So I look at the games section, and I dude down the street was moving and selling his gaming collection for cheap.
I got mario kart gp 2 arcade cabinet for $75
metroid prime $1
zelda wind waker 50 cents
super mario bros. arcade cabinet $100
xbox 360 s no connect sensor, halo 3, cod mw3 $100
collecovision $10
atari 7800 $10
a nes top loader and 200 games for $60
GnR pinball $150
I don't really buy anything on impulse...
The last thing I remember buying on impulse was Two Worlds back in 2007 - and boy did that game suck -.-
I bought Street Fighter X Tekken online for roughly $20 having almost never played any fighting games but I thought the graphical style was really neat.
So far enjoying it a lot but I'm stuck in the Vinny Racing Wheel mindset where the game could be a lot more fun with an arcade stick.. but I don't play any other fighting games and.. hmm racing wheel..
I've actually been extremely cautious with my frugal spending as of late. The last "impulse" buy I made was when Wolfenstein was on sale on Steam for $5. A handful of games I've wanted on PC have gone on sale since then (Sega Dreamcast Collection, Deus Ex: HR, Burnout Paradise) but I've skipped them because I know I won't get to play them anytime soon anyway.
My last impulse buy was Kid Icarus. I found myself in Best Buy with a $10 gift card on Friday with nothing to buy, but when I saw it was only $29.99, I went for it. I'm happy I did.
