The last games I bought on an impulse was Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Went to the store and they had buy 1 get 1 half price on 3DS games and a deal for $20 off of $100 electronics purchases.
I was in the store to pick up SSX and it was relatively cheap, it's been that way for a while, I thought it might be a quick and easy run through and I liked the demo so why not?
I'm probably going to get killed for this, but I didn't pick up Demon Souls and Dark Souls at launch. So yesterday, when I was picking up dinner, I swung by the local GameStop and picked up Dark Souls and ordered Demon Souls on Amazon via my iPhone since GameStop had a gutted copy of it without the cover :/
Yakuza 4 on Amazon for $20. The QL for Dead Souls reminded me of how much fun those games can be if you're just kinda looking to zone out and keep your hands busy...man, THAT could go in a different direction...
@EternityInBlack I didn't pick up Demon Souls at launch either. I got it when it became a Greatest Hits for $20. One of the best $20 I've ever spent. I have to go back and beat it or start a new character and experience it again.
Last big one i remember was Skyrim in november; impulse because i thought it looked cool but had never played an ES game before and the only real RPG i played before was Mass Effect.
Also bought prey for a couple pounds; its alright.
And just received an impulse buy in the form of MGS Ultimate HD collection but it was impulsive a year ago; still great though
I was this close to impulse buying a Vita. I then looked at the games and realized the only interesting game was available on a better platform and cheaper.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Recokning was an impulse buy while I was at the store to pick up Resident Evil: Revelations.
Not the same situation, but I did also pick up Kindoms of Amalur on impulse. Wasn't even on sale, but it suddenly looked like a great way to whittle away the time before ME3. Not my best decision.
Lego Rock Band for $10. Sometimes I still see it for $20 in the same store so I think it was a deal. I don't like the songs enough to pay another $10 to import them to other Rock Band games though.
I was going over some games over the weekend and apparently i bought Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, but I simply don't remember ever getting it weird.
All of Civilization V for $14.30~ish, and right before that, all of Borderlands for $7.50.
I haven't played much of Borderlands as I'm waiting for a friend to get a new power cable so we can co-op it, but I have played a ton of Civ V. Totally worth it.
I Pre-ordered the Witcher 2 enhanced edition for the 360 off of the toys r us website cause I saw a thread on Amazon saying that they were selling it for 44.99 for some reason. I was planning on getting it anyway, but when I saw that price I just had to get it right then and there!
Earlier today I decided against buying a cheap bad used bass, and instead ordered an import of Tales of Graces F, and they processed the entire thing from placing the order to putting it in the padded envelope in three hours (videogamesplus.ca).
Please be equal or greater than Star Ocean 4 in the amounts of pleasure you will provide me with, please oh please..
Deus Ex: Invisible War for $2.50. I played and enjoyed the first game and Human Revolution, and have been wanting to see what all the negative fuss was about regarding the second game that people seem to want to forget happened.
Had a spare 800 Microsoft Points so I bought Mega Man 9. It's going to be a while before I clear one stage let alone the whole game. Oh yeah and a Zelda-themed GameCube off Ebay.
bought Just Cause 2 + all the dlc for $15 on Steam, i feel pretty ok about that, although the 20 minutes i played of it didnt really grab me all that much
I rarely have that kind of impulse buy. I've come to the realization that, if I'm not looking forward to the game prior from entering the shop, and buy it, I'll probably shelve it soon after I start playing. Then I stopped impulse buying.
I was waiting for shoot many robots to pop up on steam and it did last night added to cart, also in there was zombies must die and rather than removing it I also got that =P
