Looking at polls on the site, more than 50% uses X1050p and over for resolution. I on other site tried to convince even pc gamers who uses something like X900 rez or less, even a X768 rez hdtv as a pc monitor to upgrade. The common excuses they might have is, I don't have the money, or maybe, it's good enough, or their rig can't run anything higher.
I ask you, do you think things could look even better or worst with more pixels? It will only look better and sharper for everything. Of course you might complain that it takes more power to run something like X1200 rez or higher, well a bit more power. Also not everyone is a pc gamer might be another excuse. I think we all here have a pc, well some macs, that's a different story. The point is a monitor is a window into the pc world, so why do you have such a small, window that isn't clear you hunch over in thinking it's good enough? Even if it cost $200, why not upgrade? Some monitors are at 1080p now, just like hdtvs, you can take your console and plug it into there, it has sound now. Your not missing anything rather your gaining alot. You can sit and surf on the web and go play console or pc games all in one monitor. For $200 that's really cheap for a 1080p display, where you can practically watch blue ray the way it was intended.
What are your reasons for not upgrading? Also will you ever consider upgrading it? If you actually have a bit of cashed saved up?
(fun fact, did you know if you have a laptop or a notebook, if it has hdmi out, you can connect it to any 1080p displays if it has a hdmi port?)
