Wow, post 1000 1001 (damn you samcroft). Might as well.
Your 3 Top games ever!
I'm probably gonna go with the games that have had the biggest impacts on me. That means that might not hold up compared to todays standards, but they meant everything for me back in the day.
Medievil (The PS1 game)
Uncharted 2 (Best action/adventure game ever made!)
GTA: Vice City (That game had a huge influence on my musical taste)
NCAA Football 2006
Battlefield 1942
Pokemon Blue
My brother and I play the Army-Navy game on NCAA Football '06 every Thanksgiving. I still cannot play defense.
BF1942 was my first experience with online play. Endless hours were spent storming Omaha Beach.
Pokemon Blue because Pokemon Blue. I think this may have been the first game I ever really played. My gameboy color still works!
Dark Souls
Ocarina of Time
Shadow of the Colossus
Honorable mention goes to No One Lives Forever series.
Can't remember if I posted in this. If I did it's probably changed.
Deus Ex
Mass Effect 3
The Walking Dead
Annoys me a bit that 2/3 of those came out this year, but what-thefuck-ever. Although, 'Mass Effect 3' should really be the whole trilogy, since ME3 only had such an impact on me because I was so invested thanks to the great ME2 and the fantastic ME1.
From the perspective of possibility space: -
Halflife : - For redefining the FPS and moving things beyond the Doom model.
Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines: -Leveraging Valves facial tech to really breathe life into their NPCs.
The Sims: - The AI and how they act autonomously if left to their own devices.
I've tried to post in this bloody thread a half dozen times. F*** it:
I know I could pop in any one of those tomorrow, beat it soundly and have a damn fine time doing it. They're certainly not the deepest, most graphically impressive, rewarding or finely polished games out there, (Well, I guess Mega Man X is held in pretty high regard.) but they are definitely very video-gamey, and I like my video games video-gamey.

Oh man, good for you for choosing Mega Man X. I love that game; it might be among my top 5 most played games on the SNES.
Just to prove it, as much to myself as to anyone here, I just ran through Space Harrier II:
Bam! Final screen. That's me, messed up the initials cause I was so hyped up even after the credits: 22 million, 470 thousand, 200 points, 11 extra lives remaining. Hadn't played in years. Not my best run, I do remember that if you get enough extra lives, they eventually roll over and disappear. F*** you Dark Harrier! Fantasy land is safe once again, even if Space Harrier is worried that someone else appearing with "the power" portends terrible things. Evidently they'll never come to pass since this was the final game in the series, unless you count the spin-off Planet Harriers.
Admittedly, it's a pretty easy game, and you get just about that many points just by finishing the game anyway. I've still never killed all the Neo Tomos either in the stage or in the boss rush. They run away so bloody fast.
1. Read Dead Redemption ( Best game I have ever played hands down, god I hope they make another, also the only game I beat, sold, got again and beat it twice)
2. World of Warcraft
3. Star Wars Republic Commando( first game I remember beating as a kid)
Yoshi's Island
Shadow of the Colossus
Halo 3
If I was to extend it to top five I would add Red Dead Redemption and Portal 2, honestly switch any of the 3 with those 2 and I would still be happy with the list. Limiting yourself to three is a bit silly anyway, there are probably at least 10 other games I like just as much as those mentioned in reality, but if forced I guess this list is fine.
