Red Dead Redemption for sure.  But this year has been so good, it will be pretty tough to make a top 10.

Red Dead Redemption. Followed by Heavy Rain and Limbo. Though do take notice that I have yet to play Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect 2, RDR, SSFIIV, Starcraft 2, Dead Rising 2, Blur, Alan Wake, Reach...sooo many games. Better get to work on my list and start thinning out the herd.

It will probably be Strange Journey once I manage to beat it.

Also A Link to The Past, That game makes me  giddy with happiness.  Yes i said Giddy, but that is what zelda does to me.

I am torn between Castlevania and Red Dead Redemption.

Mass Effect 2, duh.

It's damnably near split down the middle between ME2 and SC2... I haven't played RDR yet, either. Shit. And SMG2 and Kirby's Epic Yarn... this has been a hell of a year. Also Fallout New Vegas but I haven't played that yet either... SHIT!

Civ 5 I guess, but it kind of wins by default as there has not been anything I feel worthy of Game of the year. I guess for me it would be Civ 5 and Mass Effect 2, but ME2 only for the first play through of that game. I have tried many times to play it again and every time I try I like it exponentially less and less as I see so many things I dislike about the game every time I play it again.

As far as I can tell right now, Red Dead Redemption, though there might have been a release earlier in the year that I've forgotten about.

Red Dead easily, I really loved that game. Hopefully Undead Nightmare will only continue my love affair. 

Civ 5

I still have to say Just Cause 2,  I enjoyed the hell out of that game.   
 I'll put more time into Reach, But I'd still put Just Cause above it. 
 
Mass Effect didn't do it for me, 
And Red Dead,  Well the game itself is awesome but I found the controls to be...... janky.

Why ruin the suspense of my inevitable 2010 GOTY list? I'll tell you this, though: Crackdown 2 is not my choice for GOTY.

ME2.  Perfect blend of RPG and action.

Just off the top of my dome I'm going with a lot of what others have said, it looks like. I very much enjoyed and would probably choose between Mass Effect 2, RDR or Reach (loving the multiplayer). I wish I could pick Civ 5, but that thing really needs a patch. Having a hard time remembering what came out earlier this year.
 
I'm hoping Fable 3 will be worthy of this list too.

Halo Reach followed closely by Mass Effect 2. I'd put Red Dead and Starcraft II up there if it weren't for not finishing either.

Starcraft  2 over Civilization 5 only because SC 2's campaign was far more challenging than a game of civ 5 at "normal" levels.

My top three would probably be Mass Effect 2, FFXIII, and Heavy Rain in no order.  Hopefully Gran Turismo 5 will take the crown though.

I wish I had something more interesting to contribute, but ME2.
 
Heavy Rain is a very distant second.

Probably Mass Effect 2. Followed very very closely by Starcraft 2 and Red Dead.
Any of those three would be just fine by me.

Obviously Mass Effect followed by Alan Wake.

Red Dead Redemption. That game's ending was the best I've ever seen.

Nothing so far has grabbed my attention away from WoW more than Halo Reach, but I definitely plan on sinking some serious time into New Vegas

RDR also marks the first time I really felt like the minigames (Liar's Dice, Poker, etc.) were an activity that was part of the world as opposed to some plugged-in minigame nonsense (Pazook in KOTOR for example).

Limbo. I put more energy into that game, figuring out all of its secrets, and trying to master every nuance (i.e. complete the game w/o dying) than any other this year.  I think that's significant considering the length of the game. I don't think I'll go back to it as often or with as much excitement as I do Braid, but I have a similar level of respect of and enjoyment with Limbo.
 
Special mention for Red Dead Redemption, though. That's the only GTAish game I've even considered liking since the original, and I like it a lot.  
 
Bad Company 2 also deserves a mention, since it won me over from Modern Warfare 2 and kept me interested for a relatively long time.
 
I still need to play Starcraft 2, Mass Effect 2 (and 1, for that matter), and Civilization V, among others. 

Me an the Mrs agree, Mass Effect 2 by a mile then followed by Civ 5 and then Red Dead although I hated the ending of that game with a passion.
 
Edit: My wife has said I have to add Mass Effect 1 as she played that more then Animal Crossing and to be fair that's quite a lot.
